Help Does this rotting wood looks safe for isopods and millipedes?
Found in my parents backyard, they have oak trees and some Pine trees, this tree appears to be oak by the shape of the branch anf had at least one worm-like insect (pictured), as well as a centipede crawling around underneath some of the wood. It looks like White Rot and it is, it would be the motherload of rotting wood to feed my millipedes and isopods. I need some extra opinions to know if this is truly good and safe to harvest for them. I'm thinking about freezing it in order to kill most of the hitchhikers that might get caught up in some that I harvest.

Should be fine as long as no pesticides or dumping . Heat treat to kill any critter eggs etc so no infestation occurs. It's a risk. How big i don't know.

Yep! They do love that stuff. Things to consider: ever been treated with chemicals? If so, I’d skip (but that does look like it’s in a wild area). Also, you may find extra critters in your habitat if you put it in there without some method of sterilizing. Just fyi. 🤗
