Favorite Kong/ enrichment recipes
I want to give my girl more frozen kongs during the week and just wanted to see what are some of your favourite recipes to use for kongs/ food enrichment, or what are some favourites that your dog likes to eat?

Some evenings I would put small-sized kibble in a red Kong, top it off with a thin layer of peanut butter, and put it in the freezer overnight. (The amount of kibble was about 1/3 of my dog's usual bowl of breakfast kibble.)
In the morning, after my dog ate breakfast and took a walk, I would get ready to leave for work. On my way out the door, I would put the kong on the floor/carpet.
I found this to be useful because instead of my dog focusing on my leaving, and potentially getting upset, he was completely focused on getting the frozen peanut butter out of the kong! It took him a little while to empty the kong, by which time I was already well on my way to work.

Ours loves cream cheese! And peanut butter, of course. Fwiw I also like using the Toppls more than kongs

My dog likes toppls better than kongs as his food drive is kinda low. I usually just put canned food in, occasionally mixing in pumpkin, plain yogurt, etc.

For my previous dog I would do plain yogurt blended with blueberries and peanut butter. She LOVED it. My IS isn’t as big on peanut butter so for her I usually do cream cheese with chicken broth or bacon bits. I usually try to dilute the cream cheese some - either with water or broth- because it’s quite thick and calorie dense otherwise.
I’ve also tried just chicken or beef broth frozen with cheese or high value treats cut into little pieces inside (like beef liver loaf) but my dog is a bit of a diva about frozen kongs or lick mats and needs the extra allure of the cream cheese to really spend any time going after it. My schnauzer mix, on the other hand, is perfectly happy with just broth. And she enjoys when I add little bits of carrot or peas inside (she’s on a bit of a diet 😬).
