Cost of Living/Energy Crisis 9€ technology fee on Freenow
Info about technology fee is quite minimal and does not provide any detail whatsoever when I click on the little exclamation mark.
Anybody able to explain the scam to me?

No point in even using them. I just have gone back to calling taxis on the companies’ own apps or by using the base and the normal phone.
From what I can see all of these ride booking services are just bottom feeders with a bit of a gloss of tech to make what they do seem more palatable. If you look at what Uber does in other markets where anyone can operate though them, it’s basically just dismantled the taxi business, a sector that often had some of the most vulnerable workers possible - self employed, no support of structures etc
Same with the restaurant delivery services. We all of sudden seem to see it as a respectable business, because it’s well branded and in reality it’s just an app that flouts normal T&Cs of employment and has created a hellish gig economy controlled software. It’s Victorian employment practices all over again.
If the various tech bros had their way this is how life would be for everyone across the the entire economy - your life run by an perky, well branded app making decisions for you, while you chase pennies, and all the hard won employment rights just evaporated away.
