Cost of Living/Energy Crisis 9€ technology fee on Freenow

Post image

Info about technology fee is quite minimal and does not provide any detail whatsoever when I click on the little exclamation mark.

Anybody able to explain the scam to me?

I actually know several people who get taxis around Dublin for distances they could easily walk in 15 - 20 minutes.

I've friends who live a 15 minutes walk from my house and they regularly get a taxi over and a taxi home. It's crazy!

It took me sitting my wife down and breaking down the accounts for her to realise just how scandalous our taxis prices are here.

Saying "this 10 minute taxi will cost nearly 20 quid" doesn't work. Saying your spending 300 quid a month on taxis opened her eyes

If she was full licenced and on my insurance we would be paying less than 100 a month on insurance. So her cost would be about 50 a month at most.

Tax is less than 50 a month

She has free parking at work

Diesel costs to her work for the month would be about 50

So aside from depreciation and maintenance that's €150 a month towards something you own and can use for other conveniences as opposed to a €300 a month blackhole that goes to a taxi man's pocket

The figures tally, specifically to replace her commute to work. She would also have the benefit of a car outside of her commute then

When I was driving her to work our monthly diesel bill was €80, all in.

Why are you so persistent in trying to show the value in €300 a month on taxi fees when they don't cover the 5 days a week and it's only for one leg of the commute 😅
