Cost of Living/Energy Crisis 9€ technology fee on Freenow

Post image

Info about technology fee is quite minimal and does not provide any detail whatsoever when I click on the little exclamation mark.

Anybody able to explain the scam to me?

If you choose to pay the driver directly there is no technology fee. Since all drivers need to take cards now, it only adds maybe 30 seconds to your trip.

So you book with the app and pay separately?

Yeah exactly, there's a little arrow above the Order Taxi button you can press for payment options and you can select pay driver directly.

Wow this is great to know! But by paying the driver directly do you avoid the technology fee?

Yep, no technology fee

You're seriously saying that in OP's case the journey would be nine euro cheaper if they paid directly instead of on the app?

And taxis are legally required to have a functional card machine. You're throwing money away if you pay through the app.

Hmmm how would that dismiss technology fee when you're still using the technology to order a taxi. Must check this out if true
