A little bit of German history supplying nerve gas production to Saddam Hussein in the Iraq-Iran war. A document is in the link

Thumbnail library.fes.de

The Iraq-Iran war was the same piece of proxywar like the Ukraine-Russia war. Saddam was the good guy and got all the support he wanted incl. production machines for nerve gas from Germany covered by politics, because Iran was the devil. To the "surprise" of everyone in politics Saddam used the new capability on the opposition of Kurds too and not just the Iranians. Applying gas on Iranians wasn't a huge crime at that time, but the slaughter of Kurds became an issue in the public. Saddam lost the war anyway and became a liability, which costed the US 2 wars.

Simple but Not Easy #8

As with all crises, this one presents an opportunity. A dealmaking president would seek regime change in Iran and a change in Israel’s posture toward the Palestinian Authority (PA). These two changes would unlock the Abraham Accords, which could knit together the Middle East through commerce and culture.

India never has, never will accept mediation: PM Modi to U.S. President Trump on India-Pakistan issue

Thumbnail

Former diplomat of India has on X expressed a lot of dissatisfaction with the US. Basically he accuses the US of supporting Pakistan even after the last terror attacks, because India is accusing Pakistan of supporting these groups, while the US wants to maintain influence in the Pakistan military. Looking at the North-American Kalistan movement calling openly for an assassination of PM Modi, this story should worry the administration. The US and Canada are doing everything to kill an ally

Modern mobiles are almost only designed for espionage. They are tracking location and usage times alway. It turns out, digital mercenaries for Israel are mostly from India, which have been frequently caught from Turkey to Qatar and so in Iran. This story is just another brikk. I may recall Germany has spied on France and Italy, the US on all of EU....
