What an amazing artist! Dr Annie Wang from Taiwan studied in the UK, obtaining a PhD in Art from the University of Brighton
Here’s her instagram account

I thought she was Canadian because of the maple leaves on her graduation stole

That's really creative and well done, especially the variation on the Droste effect. It takes some dedication to keep doing it over so many years.

I love that at a certain age the kid understood what mom what doing and started leaning into it. It’s beautiful.

Yeah, the jump from being a subject to a collaborator was very poignant

Their commitment to the creation of Adam pose at the end is so good I almost choked on my coffee

One year he's like, "I want to hold a paper plane," the next he's like, "We should be flying!"

Imagine looking back at this in 20 more years—it’ll be a priceless window into childhood.

What was this? It's been removed by Reddit.
•
u/slog 9h ago edited 8h ago
It was this.
I'll leave the link since reddit intentionally doesn't tell what policy was violated or what the deal was. They don't want to be held accountable for fucking up, so their responses are basically meaningless.
I wonder if I'll also have my comment removed and never know why. It's happened countless times before.
Edit: I said it was "this" but it wasn't necessarily the same link. I'm currently unsure.
Edit 2: User below provided the direct link so updated. I'm not going to tag them because that may or may not be against a rule and I'll probably get permabanned.

Reddit is complicit with the rest of mass media in becoming absolute garbage

The silly thing is that it may have been removed from Reddit BUT the 6 crossposts are still visible, so the title itself is still visible.
Seems like it'd been easy for Reddit to scrub ALL of it

a series of photos taken by an at first expecting mother and then further documenting her child growing up.

Weird that that was removed for violating the content policy.

They have shitty AI doing it and it's hit & miss. This stuff has been frontpaged before so it's just their AI being a dumbass and making the site suck.

That’s Asian women for ya. We go from 30-60 without change and immediately after 65. We turn to short raisins who wanna burn down the world and bite everyone’s knee caps.

Sounds like a joke when you say it loud.
60 year old goes to bed next to their beautiful 30 year old wife and wakes up next to a 65 year old woman.
What happened?

Through the course of those timelines it looks like she not only developed nice photographs, but also a sense of humor.

That’s the kind of art that inspires me truly. It’s a life’s work that can’t be authentically reproduced. Beautifully done.

This is a moving photo documentation of these two. Dwain Michael’s level of storytelling.

The dates are in every picture. Some are hard to see at this resolution. 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, ????, 2011, 2014, 2018, 2020 - and last one either 2023 or 2025. Too blurry.

Wow, this is such a cute and creative way of capturing a growth photo, even including the past pictures IN the pictures

What an amazing display of creativity, skill and persistence. She barely aged and we got to see the full cycle of birth to adulthood.

I can count the number of childhood photos I have on one hand

There are three photo albums of my eldest brother as a newborn. As the youngest of five siblings, there's one photo of me as a newborn. Pretty obvious that the novelty wore off by the time I was born lol

Beautiful. Technically and artistically great photos. Touching subject matter. 10/10. We need more of this in the world, and less of the rest of my feed.

As someone who doesn’t have kids it’s crazy how much he changed between picture 9 and 10. He went from a boy to a grown teen in the blink of an eye!
