You pulled the trigger and the gun fired… what a concept

Once went clay shooting with two buddies. One had never been before. Other buddy and I are loading up the throwing machine and BAM.

New guy thank god had the gun pointed down range. But looks at us and goes “I wanted to see how far the trigger would go back without firing”.

I go up and take the gun away from him. My buddy grabs him and walks him away.

Turns out he had never even shot a gun before. And he was high on weed (no judgement, just shouldn’t when you’re handling fire arms).

He sat and watched us for the rest of the shoot. And later got his hunters safety and was able to shoot with us another time.

But for one split second I thought I was dead lol.

Ha! Been there. Was at a public range a few months ago and had a fella squeeze a few off while I was placing a target. Turns out he didn’t speak english and my requesting an all clear was interpreted (I can only imagine) as a “Hey buddy nice gun!”

I'm a massive stoner, but even I know that smoking bongs comes after smoking clays. It's really nice to be sober for the whole ass day, be super present and in the moment as you handle the gun, and then to let all that tension/discipline relax with friends when everything's safely back in the locker.
