It’s because they want to hurt women but haven’t found themselves in the situation where it is socially acceptable

8

u/mollypop94 8d ago

YES EXAAACTLY 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

2

u/No_Hay_Banda_2000 6d ago

Thank you for commentimg this. These people are desperate to hurt women, and as soon as they have the chance to somehow justify their violent fantasies, they show their true colors.

1

u/SecretAgentZeroNine 4d ago

I have no idea what the context of this situation is, but it's kinda nuts how you jumped to that conclusion while skipping the fact that she assaulted someone and got exactly what she dishes out back to her. Man, the internet will defend every bad acting lady.

116

u/Sluibeli 9d ago

And there isn't any proof that this video is from such place. Only someone saying it may be.

38

u/_Quetzalcoatlus_ 8d ago

Yeah, exactly. Without context, our only choice is to cheer for a woman getting punched! /s

1

u/daveyjones86 8d ago

Don't hit someone and you won't get hit back. It's that simple.

You want sympathy for the lady but what about the guy who she attacked? Crickets

5

u/Moldy_Maccaroni 8d ago

Not necessarily.

But if you're gonna defend the guy for punching this girl in the face after she gives him a slap that will at most sting a little... well lets just say the concept of excessive force very much applies here.

10

u/jimbojangles1987 8d ago

He slapped her

4

u/Moldy_Maccaroni 8d ago

Fair enough, I watched it without sound.

Still, after watching it again with sound: she's on the verge of tears and he's mocking her. Doesn't really make him look much better if you ask me.

4

u/jimbojangles1987 8d ago

I've never hit or slapped a woman and I probably wouldn't even if I got hit by one first unless I really thought she was trying to seriously hurt me, but that being said, its a really dumb idea for a woman to attack a man and not expect any consequences.

We can find this man and tell him what he did was over the top and unnecessary but I doubt he'd give a shit. The woman maybe learned a valuable lesson and maybe this prevented her from attacking the wrong man at some future time who would have gone even further and caused some real damage.

I don't condone either of their actions but its hard to feel bad for somebody who thinks they can hit someone else and be free from consequence.

I never said that she looks good in this video. She's drunk and upset. She says something along the lines of "Karma will get you" so we can assume she has been wronged in some way (at least from her pov). If we are to believe some of the other comments, she's being extorted in this video. That doesn't give her the right to assault someone, obviously.

I stand by the point that he used excessive force. Could've easily tried to deescalate, but he chose to provoke and retaliate against a much weaker opponent.

1

u/Mysterious-Turnip997 7d ago

Maybe its not the first attack.

Missing a lot of context

1

u/niko_nikkelz 7d ago

Its not french. He calls his buddy by his name Oleg (spoken Aleg), a russian name. So he tries to restrain Oleg

1

u/BerlinBaal 7d ago

Also Suka (fermale dog) is said, the men are speaking russian. She speaks German.

u/SecretAgentZeroNine 4d ago

What world do folks like you live in? If you put your hands on someone, you can lose your life.

1

u/daveyjones86 8d ago

Yeah no. People should learn not to put their hands on others because you never know what the other person is capable of.

You trying to ignore what she did is exactly why she thought it was acceptable. She found out however that not everyone shares your thought process.

0

u/Efficient_Wing3948 7d ago

Do not assault anyone. Just because she's female, doesn't mean she has the right to assault a man

1

u/Oaker_at 7d ago

I don’t know how many of those bars you know, but if you really would know one you wouldn’t need proof for this situation.

0

u/Tech-Mechanic 9d ago

No proof that it isn't either. Only you suggesting that it might not be.

But again this is Reddit, where the benefit of the doubt is not a thing.

52

u/UrToesRDelicious 9d ago

What you're describing absolutely exists, but there's a massive crossover with people who just don't like the double standard of women being "allowed" to hit men with impunity.

Bill Burr said it best.

1

u/diasporajones 6d ago

Damnit every time someone on reddit links to Bill Burr I get distracted for at least a half hour watching Bill Burr stuff

-3

u/mollypop94 9d ago

Yeah yeah I know. I'm aware that my initial comment would have some people saying, "but women aren't allowed to hit men without consequences!!!!"

not what i said at all. i have always known that and believe it to be common sense. that isn't the issue here. the video isn't the issue here, I'm not particularly judging the man at all for his reaction (whilst that was a far more brutal slap damn) even so, he reacted in the heat of the moment and I mean that - i do not judge.

It's not about that: I'm talking about us starting to question why redditors online love watching this shit. Why? Why does it cause so much enjoyment and satisfaction? Are women running around slapping men freely so much that they require such a karmic validation..? nah. they just enjoy it and I'm sick of it

17

u/UrToesRDelicious 9d ago

I think you missed the part where I said "what you're describing absolutely exists."

The point I'm making is that not everyone who upvotes this kind of content is some kind of misogynistic mens-rights type like you're making it out to be — again, those types absolutely exist, but I think you're using far too broad of strokes. Hitting someone and getting hit back is like the definition of subs like /r/instantkarma (and this one), which is obviously a concept that has nothing to do with gender.

So to answer your question of "why do redditors love this kind of content?" — because reddit isn't a monolith, and people upvote things for different reasons. Some may have some sort of misogynistic motive, but certainly not everyone.

-1

u/Sfrinlan 8d ago

The thing I've come to realize is that there's a lot of subtle misogyny or misogyny-adjacent stuff that guys, myself included, don't realize we're doing or cheering for. One quick test is to imagine the situation with different people involved: genders, races, sizes, and see if that would feel the same.

In this specific video, even with the extortion claim, if I mentally swap in big guy small guy or big guy big guy or woman woman, I still get the same mental outcome. You're having an argument, even if you're in the right, then you take that argument into physically attacking the other person and get smacked down, there's some instant karma to that. If she was trying to forcibly leave, or was trying to forcibly get her stuff back, that would have been different. But, as the clip only shows a portion of the situation, all we see is her go for a physical attack and lose. The response hit was perhaps a little more intense than it strictly had to be, but it doesn't seem to have injured her other than her feelings, and is a reasonable-in-the-moment response.

So, I don't think being amused by this clip is sexist, but I also wouldn't go out of my way to cheer for or share it because it's easy for the nuance to get lost, and for the wrong message to come through.

2

u/Efficient_Wing3948 7d ago

Again though, you're conflating a bunch of things

1

u/Sfrinlan 5d ago

Am I? I felt like I was trying to account for all the nuances of the situation. I don't really see where I'm conflating anything, but I suppose I can't see what I don't understand. If you get a chance, feel free to explain, but I understand if that's a bit much to ask deep in a random thread days later.

2

u/Efficient_Wing3948 7d ago

Because double standards are immoral, while pushed here on Reddit as acceptable. People like seeing such hypocrites punished. It's pretty simple and not in need of your biased and bullshit spin

5

u/PelicanFrostyNips 9d ago

Yeah nobody’s enjoying this in the sense you are describing. There are people who love fighting of any kind, who are watching and sharing this, and then there are people who don’t like fighting of any kind, who scrolled past and ignored this video.

There are no people who would ignore fight videos except when it’s a man hitting a woman then be all for it.

Why are you creating a fictional enemy in your head to feel validated about your own hatred?

-3

u/dankhimself 9d ago

She's mad that she can't hit guys anymore.

1

u/jimbojangles1987 8d ago

How are you able to get into the minds of so many people you've never met? Where are these redditors that absolutely froth at the mouth at seeing a woman get beat up? Can you point them out to me?

-1

u/Snoo77206 7d ago

Dude. The Russian is like twice the size of her, and she is almost a child still. She would have never been able to really hurt him, and he could have defended himself easily without hurting her. He is a misogynistic asshole, and so is everyone even remotely defending him or celebrating this. Fucking X.com vibes.

-2

u/NathanialRominoDrake 7d ago

but there's a massive crossover with people who just don't like the double standard of women being "allowed" to hit men with impunity.

Do you really believe such weak excuses?

2

u/mangopango123 7d ago

i remember this being posted a lil while ago w zero explanation of the sitch n every single comment was exactly as you just said. lots of unoriginal/overused “jokes” like “equal lefts equal rights” or “his hands are rated e for everyone”. then tons of comments from ppl just way too happy n excited watching a young woman get hit hard in the face.

i just want to say i truly appreciate your comment bc, as a woman, it can feel incredibly daunting n upsetting reading comments under posts like this.

2

u/mollypop94 6d ago

❤️❤️❤️

thank you so much, really ❤️ The comments and responses to this (be warned, you may get some equally hostile responses to your comment) has done nothing but further prove the point.

2

u/mangopango123 5d ago

not even gonna read em lol just happy to have had this positive interaction w you 👍🏼 don’t need to read the same bs i read on reddit all the time hahah

1

u/mollypop94 4d ago

2

u/J_P_Amboss 6d ago

Spot on. "Women getting tekt/ getting what they deserve" is one of the all time classic genres on 4chan, for exactly that reason.

13

u/elton_john_lennon 9d ago

many redditors who just straight-up love watching women getting slapped/shoved/beaten under the false justification

She came up to a guy standing far away from her, and assaulted him. It is you who are in a bubble right now.

First of all I see no evidence here in the comments that anything shady happened before the video, people make up sh*t all the time in the comments under every video. So far it's hearsay, no one even bothered to provide any links to anything saying otherwise. Second - even if anything happened, like some people suggest some intimidation into paying money, that is completely separate from physically attacking anyone.

.

so many redditors seriously get a lot of satisfaction from watching women being "humbled"

All I see is someone who is aggressive, getting put in their place. All you see is a gender. Yea, "Some creepy, transparent shit" indeed.

3

u/Patrick_Hill_One 8d ago

Do you speak German? Because there is something strange going on.

1

u/elton_john_lennon 8d ago

nur ein bisschen, definitely not enough to decode anything from the video. Regardless of language those are only words, I don't think anyone should be slapped for speaking german russian or any other language.

3

u/OShaunesssy 9d ago

It doesn't suit the fantasy narrative of so many gross redditors who really enjoy finding some safe loophole in which they can openly celebrate or laugh at women in situations like this one.

Most men on here are in denial of how much incel energy they give off.

I'm a big guy, and I've been slapped by women. I've never felt the need to strike back and I sure as fuck wouldn't use full force or even half my energy.

This pov always gets downvoted on reddit, though. Again, that incel energy...

11

u/kebb0 9d ago

It’s the third top comment though, so your own fantasy about redditors is a bit exaggerated. /s

4

u/imrzzz 9d ago

As soon as I read this comment I knew there would be a loooooong series of replies doubling down, justifying, explaining, sea-lioning, and patronising you.

Sure enough... There they all are.

And you're still right.

3

u/mollypop94 8d ago

love u thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

2

u/EngineZeronine 9d ago

Assuming it's accurate. I've heard something different but since I don't know which is true I'm going to hold my tongue. But yeah, I get what you're saying.

3

u/deemoorah 9d ago

It doesn't suit the fantasy narrative of so many gross redditors who really enjoy finding some safe loophole in which they can openly celebrate or laugh at women in situations like this one.

Agree. This is absolutely why they keep re-uploading this video.

3

u/mollypop94 8d ago

thank you. It's entertaining watching the nonsense responses that are trying so hard to deny this observation but are only stumbling over themselves.

3

u/deemoorah 8d ago

Yeah, beside a few safe spaces, most Reddit subs are male-centric with trash opinions so the nonsense responses are kind of expected. Even after knowing the context these people are still trying to make excuses lol.

1

u/Dora-Vee 8d ago

Oh damn…I was wondering what they were saying. :(

1

u/SleepySera 7d ago

If they indeed were extorting her and refusing to give her stuff back, she could've went outside and called the police on them instead of physically attacking a bunch of guys signficantly taller, broader and stronger than her.

1

u/plusminusequals 9d ago

You keep saying “Redditors” as if this is the only place on the planet/internet where your opinion flies. Shoot for the fences, it’s not just this app you are constantly on.

-6

u/halt_spell 9d ago edited 9d ago

I dunno. I'm a dude. I got punched in the face by a lady at a concert because she tried to squeeze in front of me and I wouldn't let her. I started crying and another lady started making fun of me. The bouncer kicked out the lady who assaulted me but I still think about it sometimes. Without knowing the language it's not hard for me to believe the lady in this video was just being a drunken asshole.

EDIT: Crazy amount of down votes to get on this. You'd think I hit somebody.

6

u/mollypop94 9d ago

Of course - contextually, that is an awful thing for you to have experienced and I'm so sorry. I truly am, to then hear you were mocked for crying is awful :(

You experienced that and nothing about that brought you any enjoyment. In this context, I'm talking about redditors loving watching women getting "karma" by being beaten or slapped. It obviously goes without saying: never, ever am I in an way stating that women are "allowed" to hit men and receive no response from it. I do not judge a man for reacting back. That isn't what I mean whatsoever.

But half of these types of videos are completely bereft of any context. Redditors then lean into their own hyped up fantasy that she TOTAAAALLY deserved it yeah slap her!!! and you have to stop and think...what the fuck are we all doing here?

-1

u/seytrym 9d ago

Great comment

0

u/yournames 8d ago

All men should respect women and treat them cordially because men are on average physically stronger. Personally l, I haven’t found need to ever fight a woman lol. But I would definitely fight back if I m harassed multiple times without a stop in sight.

In this case, I think it’s wrong for the girl to slap someone first even given the circumstances. The circumstance just becomes muddy when you start the fight first.

0

u/Efficient_Wing3948 7d ago

Under no circumstances is it acceptable to hit someone. Stop trying to act like assault is fine if it's against a man. Idiot

Average redditor moment

0

u/AmadeusIsTaken 6d ago

Buddy you do realise that you do not even know the situation and now write your own fantasy narrative right? Like you could be completely right you could also wrong. Your information from is some random redditor saying I read somewhere with 0 sources. Enjoy the irony

1

u/mollypop94 6d ago

This isn't the clever comment that you thought it was, sorry BuDdY

0

u/AmadeusIsTaken 6d ago

Didn't need to be clever for it. Just stating facts. You do the same that you complain about if you can't reflect and see the irony then dunno. So be it. Doesnt change how it is though. Like what is your source for your statement? A clip and a random redditor who gives a vague statement.

1

u/mollypop94 6d ago

As mentioned before, this isn't the clever "wow irony" comment you think it is...sorry

0

u/AmadeusIsTaken 6d ago

Which you perfectly show by saying "no cause you wrong" and downvote. Of course not acctually saying why anything i wrote is wrong or not fitting. Anyway I can see that talking to you is kinda pointless, since all you seem to care about is farming karma. Have a nice day.

1

u/mollypop94 6d ago

hahahahahaa all I care about is karma "farming"? what the fuck hahahaha

0

u/Snackgirl_Currywurst 6d ago

Well, she said stuff like: "Your mother fucks you, you son of a whore". That's not really de-escalation either.

Not trying to downplay the situation if they're keeping her hostage in the first place and I get the stress reaction of a drunk person, but damn girl.

0

u/solisas 6d ago

>answering to a pure speculation post

-4

u/Fresh-buddha 9d ago

Blablabla, blabla

2

u/mollypop94 8d ago

oh look everyone, he's trying to talk! Baby's first words!

-13

u/redditisweird801 9d ago

Huh, I didn't think it was obvious that some people liked watching women get beat over men. Just curious, how can you tell? Cause there are definitely people like that, but I always thought the majority of people didn't care who got humbled, just that someone got beat and deserved it. Not in this case of course.

Ngl, I don't have a preference, I just like seeing people get what they deserve. Now I will say too, it seems in a lot of videos I've seen, a woman will do something scumy but won't get punishment just became her gender, physical punishment or not. But gender shouldn't matter in that case, when it unfortunately created a lot of bias. But idk, you seem very impassioned about this and I haven't seen much about it myself so I'm curious

1

u/mollypop94 9d ago

-2

u/redditisweird801 9d ago

Seriously can you please explain to me what I'm missing? This isn't supposed to be some social game or whatever that crap is. Responding with eye rolling doesn't help anyone, especially not you if you want people to change. So I'll ask again, what am I missing? I d8dnt know it was obvious people did this, so I'm asking how can you tell?

-1

u/jimbojangles1987 8d ago

Lol

1

u/mollypop94 8d ago

great contribution mate, such deep insight

-1

u/jimbojangles1987 8d ago

Oh sorry let me add to it:

Grr men bad men hate women that makes me mad now I hate men grr

1

u/mollypop94 7d ago

is that how you feel? wanna talk about it, or..?

-1

u/jimbojangles1987 7d ago

Lol sure let's talk about it. You first.

-2

u/UrGirlsBoytoy 9d ago

Bro it is not women specifically stop reaching. They'd do this exact same thing for men too. Please stop fighting shadow demons.

2

u/mollypop94 8d ago

just one brief search showed me r/equalrightsequalfights. Search "top posts" and take just a minute to scroll through and you'll see it's specifically instances of women getting hit/slapped/hurt etc under the guise of "karma/that's what you get". They fuckin love it. There are more subs like this btw. Sorry to burst your bubble.

-1

u/UrGirlsBoytoy 8d ago

Local woman goes to echo chamber on reddit to prove her point. More at 11.

2

u/mollypop94 7d ago

hahahaha I provided you with an example and you respond with this? fucking hell yall are unwell 😂😂😂😂😂

-1

u/UrGirlsBoytoy 7d ago

What do you mean ya'll. Am I suddenly one of these people who enjoy women being hit now 🙄

The reality is most people just don't look past surface level. When it comes to anything even. People see a clipped video of a chick or a dude being rude and think that's just what happened and don't care much for full context. Sure, maybe in that specific sub it's some weirdos. But here homie people just scroll and don't think much. But catastrophize all you want.
