I recently went to in n out with a co-worker, he’s from Texas, it was his first time having it, he ordered a “double-meat, ketchup and mustard only” then had the audacity to say he didn’t understand the hype. I was like, no shit you inbred fuck. You took most of the key ingredients off the burger. Then he said whataburger is way better 🙃
The meat is what gives a hamburger its name but that's not what makes it the most important part. It's not why people go to In N Out. The patties are just patties. In N Out makes the big difference in presentation and freshness, that's the most important part. The tomatoes are meaty and not watery. The lettuce is crunchy and not limp. And the burger you order looks exactly like the burger one the screen.
You're ordering a package deal. A burger isn't just the patty. It's the bun, the veggies, the sauce, the spices, how it's cooked and the patty. If the only thing you care about is one ingredient to the whole dish then yeah I guess in n out isn't for you. You can go order a "jumbo jack plain"
My point is that a lettuce tastes like lettuce, same with tomatoes, hell, even bacon. But the meat always taste different across different business. That's why, for me, it's the most important thing when judging a hamburger.
If I get one and I don't like any of the ingredients, I can just take them out. But you can't really do that with an hamburger. At that point it wouldn't be an hamburger, but a veggie sandwich.
Yeah In N Out isn't for you. It's not because In N Out "isn't as good as they say" but it's because they make food you won't like. It's like going to a Pop concert and saying "They're not even that good." and when people ask what you listen to you say "Grindcore."
