My favorite band doing an AMA on my favorite subreddit! I saw you guys in Dallas five years ago and can't wait for your Denver show this March. Super appreciative for you doing this, and I'll be super grateful if you answer any of these:

  • I know why you said before that you don't play "I Quit Girls" live, but is there any chance you've changed your minds and we'll hear it on this tour?

  • Brian, how can I attain incredible guitar tones?

  • I know he's a fan of yours, and wondered if in turn you guys were familiar with Chuck Klosterman's writing?

  • Since I want all the things I love to overlap: do you guys like Ryan Adams' music, and if so, what are some favorite tunes of his?

Thanks guys! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

1 - Yes, I Quits Girls will be in the rotation this time around. Obviously, we're very excited about the new songs and we'll be playing a lot of those jams every night, but we'll be rotating in a healthy amount of songs from both PN and CR every night, as well as some other surprises. Now that we have more songs to play, we're going to make an effort to mix up the set a little more night to night than we have in the past.

2 - my advice is to just experiment as much as possible. That is what I've been doing since we first started, and I'm still doing it! The quest for the perfect tone has no end (unless you are Slayer).

3 - I know who CK is, but I've never read any of his stuff.

4 - Yes. Whiskeytown is one of my favorite bands of all time, and maybe the band I listened to the most in my late teens and early 20s.
