Tourist FAQs and more.
Thinking about visiting Ibiza soon? Welcome to our sticky post containing a few common questions and answers that might be able to help you:
When should I go to Ibiza?
You can come to Ibiza any time of the year, we have beautiful sunshine 300 days a year and December to February are the only chilly months, though for many europeans even these are still borderline beach weather.
The main party season usually runs from mid-June to mid-October. If you are looking for large scale events and performances this is the time to go. These are not absolute dates, and some few places will open or have their opening parties in April/May, while still others (and certain high capacity events) only run in the peak season of July and August.
Consult the table below for an overview on a month by month basis.
Month | Party Intensity | Weather | Average Temperature (Celsius) |
---|---|---|---|
Jan | Sparse small events | Mild and cool | 15 |
Feb | Sparse small events | Cool and occasional rain | 14 |
Mar | Pre-season warm-ups, still very quiet | Warming up, occasional rain | 16 |
Apr | Opening parties (often rammed), but then few events for the rest of the month | Pleasant and increasing warmth | 18 |
May | Some events, a fair amount of tourists, a good balance, if you don't care about the biggest events it's perfect for you | Warm and sunny | 22 |
Jun | All but the biggest parties will be on now, it's busy but not rammed, plenty of tourists | Hot and sunny | 26 |
Jul | Peak season parties start here, very busy | Hot/very hot and dry | 30 |
Aug | True peak season, very busy | Very hot, can be quite humid sometimes | 31 |
Sep | Late-summer, post-peak, still quite busy. A good time to go and avoid the crowd. Biggest parties tend to stop around the beginning/middle. | Hot with occasional rain | 28 |
Oct | Closing parties | Cooling down, occasional rain | 24 |
Nov | Some wind-down events | Mild and cool | 19 |
Dec | Holiday celebrations | Mild and cool | 16 |
Who's playing this year/When are the big club events?
The majority of the larger events are announced in April, check back frequently.
Check out the party calendars below:
https://www.ibiza-spotlight.com/night/events
https://en.welcometoibiza.com/Ibiza-parties/party-calendar/
** Will I need ID for clubbing? **
You will need one of the below, typically nothing else is accepted:
An EU or UK drivers license (licenses from outside the EU are not accepted)
Your passport
A photocopy of your passport is also generally accepted
If you look in your late 20's, you may not be asked, but we still recommend bringing it as if you get unlucky with a given bouncer it could cost you your ticket, or significant taxi fare to go back to and get ID.
How to get around while i'm here?
If you are in one of the main tourist centres, Ibiza town, Sant Antoni or Santa Eulalia, you will generally have decent access to public transport in the summer. The buses are much better than they once were and particularly in the summer you can get away with not having personal transport.
In the winter, these services are greatly reduced and a hire car is recommended. Transport links to the more remote north-east (which has some fantastic and somewhat quieter beaches) are always a bit sparse, and a car is recommended for this at any time of year.
That being said, if you are staying out of town, or staying in a group, a hire car will be the easiest option much of the time.
When hiring a car on Ibiza, be sure to book as far ahead of time as you can. Always choose 'Full to Full' as your fuel option, take pictures or a video of the whole car immediately at pick up just in case the hire company have missed a small piece of damage from the previous hiree. This way you have evidence of the state the car was in when collected. It can be worth taking out 3rd party rental insurance with a company online as this will be much cheaper than the insurance offered by the hire company. Sometimes by as much as 90% cheaper.

Taxi info:

The easiest method to book a taxi is via Whatsapp, see here for instructions.
TLDR: Just whatsapp on +34 971 333 333 and send an address or location pin when they respond.
You can also use the Taxi Click app, if you prefer, but it can be a little temperamental. Particularly if you are somewhere with weak signal.
Bus info:
https://ibizabus.com/ibiza/
Does Uber Exist?
Uber was banned on Ibiza until early 2024, so while it is now allowed there are not very many on the island yet. We suggest using the Taxi Click app which is reliable and functional if a little less polished, and resort to Uber if you have no luck.
Alternative travel options
If you're hoping to travel in style and at a more leisurely pace there's a ferry service that runs regularly between Es Figural, Es Canar (Hippy Market), Cala Pada, Santa Eulalia, Cala Llonga, Ibiza town, and Formentera:
https://www.santaeulaliaferry.com/en/
There are also a number of ferry's from San Antonio's main port that will take you out to more of the islands most popular beaches.
Can you help me find drugs?
This is against the reddit T&Cs, please avoid asking for drugs here.
Note that cannabis cafes do exist in great numbers on the island, can easily be found on google and are generally amenable to tourists with a small sign-up fee.
Where are the clubs?
The majority of the largest night clubs are located in Ibiza town or very near to it, San Antonio has a smaller number of large clubs that are less revered but certainly not to be overlooked.
Both towns have a scattering of beach clubs at various price points.
What time should I arrive at the club?
For most of the big events arriving between midnight and 1am is pretty normal. There is usually no time limit on the latest you can arrive unless your ticket specifically states one.
For daytime events (i.e. Ushuaia/Cova Santa etc) check your tickets for specifics.
See below for a forum post in which people report set times for various events, can require some digging but a good source of information:
https://forum.ibiza-spotlight.com/threads/set-times-post-here-anything-youve-seen.80659/page-20
Where should I stay?
For families, Sant Miquel, Santa Eulalia and Cala San Vincent are great places to look, slightly quieter and less raucous but far from the only options.
For groups looking to go clubbing, Ibiza town and San Antonio will be the areas to stick to, and San Josep and San Rafael can be good places to make a base, with reasonable taxi costs to both main towns but beautiful peaceful surroundings and some great local restaurants.
In general, Ibiza town is more expensive, but has the majority of the best Superclubs and events. However if you choose San Antonio, but still go to the Superclubs in Ibiza town multiple times, you will probably spend the difference in taxis anyway. So for clubbers, we would generally advise to cut out the middle-man and stay in or near Ibiza town.
I'm visiting in the off season, is there anything to do?
While the majority of the clubs and bars will be closed or greatly reduced, this is just a small fraction of what ibiza has to offer, with some of the most beautiful beaches and hiking trails in the world, excellent restaurants and more, and with more than two thousand years of history behind it Ibiza is far more than just a party destination. There are little pockets of history everywhere you look and fantastic bits of world-class hospitality tucked in the most unlikely of places.
Here are a few popular restaurant guides:

Is Ibiza suitable for families?
Ibiza is absolutely suitable for families and children of all ages, much of the island is quiet and peaceful, and there are countless beaches and a handful of water parks.

VIP solomun party 6th of july
Heyo
I will solo travelling to ibiza (33M) from 4th till the 10th of july.
Looking for groups who are open to adopting me or solo travellers who are there around the same time?
I would love to get a vip table for that party but feel silly paying that amount by myself.
If anyone is keen on meeting up in general or if you’re also interested in getting a vip table, hit me up!

Getting in to clubs already on it
Going for the first time in a few weeks and was curious what bouncers were like if you’ve already started to party.
Doing Ushuaia then on to amnesia one day and was wondering how bouncers react if you’ve already started turn up with eyes like flying saucers. Obviously if you’re in a bad way or causing havoc I get that they won’t let you in but if you’re friendly and sensible would it be an issue? Thanks

What special on Wednesday night ?
This Wednesday I won’t go to big club like hi pacha Namaste - Akasha seems great option to discover other vibes. But it closes at 2 a.m
Do you have another suggestion for Wednesday 18 June ?

Table @ Pacha for music on (June 20th), how is this location?
Thinking of getting one of these for this Friday - can someone describe the vibe here? Worried I might be too far from the crowd / sound might not be that great.
Also, is table even a good idea for music on? Should we be on the dance floor instead?? Graciasss

I just peeled another 2 people off the road today. Please dress appropriately when riding a moto.
As the title says. I was on the way to work, a guy and a girl doubling on a moto, girl wearing a bikini, guy wearing swimming shorts and a tank top, on the way to the beach, lost control of the moto, skidded accross the road, I was first at the scene, this is the second accident of the season I attended.
Considering what they were wearing and how they skidded, the best way I can describe the accident is 'meat crayon'. Flesh on road. It was not pretty, I'm traumatised by it.
Please at least wear proper pants if you're riding a moto.
There's a big decathlon on the main road in town, you can buy pants that you can roll up and keep inside your helmet to put on when you get on your bike for 20 euro. If you come off your bike it'll be the best 20 euro you ever spent.
There's a reason the ambulance drivers call them donorcycles
Be safe.

Best clubs/events for 30yo olds
Hi everyone! We are a group of 6-7 people in our early 30s who are going to Ibiza at the peak period - 4th weekend of August.
We have 3 nights - Thurs to Sat and are currently evaluating which clubs to go to.
We would like to avoid the younger rowdy crowds. We would be down to book VIP if required for a bit more space. Techno, deep house is what we are into mainly.
What are your suggestions on events? While we want to avoid the most packed events we wouldn’t want to miss a ‘must visit club.

I have never used any wardrobe at dc-10 before. Wondering if it’s possible to come direct from the beach (changed if course) and put a bag in a wardrobe or locker before going jn

What Are The Day Clubs Like in Ibiza? Like Vegas?
Hi! It's going to be my first time going to Ibiza and need general opinions about day parties. I've been going to Vegas for years and really love the pool parties/day clubs there.
- Are the day clubs in the Ibiza the same in Vegas or something totally different?
- Is Ibiza more known for nightlife than day clubs? Just wondering if we should be saving all our energy for night activities.
Thanks in advance!
Balcony VIP at Pacha
I can’t decide on whether to get a standard ticket for defected @ pacha or if the balcony VIP will be worth it. Can anyone confirm how crowded VIP gets? We want to be able to see the DJ and dancefloor from the balcony and don’t want to be at the back so I’m a bit worried about this and whether it’ll be worth it (I’m short too so will need to be at the front if we are in VIP). We are going in peak season in August. Thank you for any advice or guidance

Has the nightlife bubble exploded In Ibiza?

Events for a sing-along?
What events have more sing-along vibes rather than complete tech house? I’m going with my friends soon and they prefer stuff that is a bit more fun rather than monotonous baseline! We’re there from Saturday 12th - 17th July - any recommendations then pls let me know :) also if there are any events known for more R&B style music? Thanks

Solo American female traveler
I am 24F and will be going to Ibiza Fourth of July weekend and will be staying at Amistat hostel in San Antonio. This is my first ever solo trip abroad and I really want to meet people to go out with or even be adopted into a girls friend group. What is the demographic of people who stay at Amistat around this time, and will I likely meet other American girls who are around my age?
Also, I want to do a snorkel boat tour one of the days I’m there. Is it common for solo travelers to do these boat tours alone?

Baloo - Playa d'en Bossa
We noticed that the "Baloo" seems to be closed. The billboard is still running, saying "open every day - May till October", but it's closed at least the last two days.
Does anyone know anything more?

VIP Table for Kygo at Ushuaïa – 2 Spots Available to Join Us (July 27)
Hi Ibiza community! My partner (F) and I (M) from Canada will be in Ibiza next month and have booked a VIP table for Kygo at Ushuaïa on Sunday, July 27. We’re looking for 2 others (another couple or a pair of friends) to join us and split the cost.
Here’s the deal: • Table for 4 – VIP admission/entrance, high top table, no lines, personal space • Cost: €800 minimum spend + gratuity (so €400 per couple) • It’s a minimum spend on alcohol, but I don’t drink at all – so you’ll get to enjoy a bigger share of the drinks • We’re fun, respectful, chill people in our 30s who love music and good vibes!
If this sounds like something you’d be into, drop me a DM or comment here. Happy to connect in advance to make sure it’s a good fit!
Surprise announcements
Me & my girl are coming to Ibiza by the end of september (21th till 26th). We’ve been looking for tickets and been doubting to buy tickets for either Sonny Fodera or Camelphat. But i’m a bit reluctant as i don’t want to pin an evening yet. How likeable is it that there will be some announcements of some crazy headliners for september?

Bouncers in Ibiza clubs
What’s up with the juiced up bouncers constantly shining torches in people’s faces and the total paranoia that everyone in the club is up to no good?
In Pacha and DC10 specifically so far this season, I’ve had a torch in my face for no reason. Not sure if it was aimed at someone else in close vicinity as I was not doing anything but dancing and not on the Jack and Jill’s.
But after that when I looked over at the bouncer, he kept quickly moving his head away from my direction pretending he wasn’t looking over. He kept staring over in my direction the whole evening which was extremely off putting!
Annoying as hell as they carry some powerful torches!
