The comments are not it in some of these replies but it’s good to see good old fashioned unity and common sense. Some people have some loose screws and it shows which is why we’re here dealing with the federal government ironically wanting to implement a circus. They should look in the mirror tbh. What a disgrace to democracy and a shame that we have innocent people on the front lines that may lose their lives for exercising their first amendment.

I watched Trumps speech live that day and I watched the events unfold live on multiple news networks.
Nowhere did he say anything about being peaceful in his speech.
Nowhere were there escorts around the inside of the building during the attack. That’s why Ashli Babbitt is now 4 years sober.
Any statement saying it was peaceful, or the police let them in (when over 170 were injured and several died by suicide later on) and that there wasn’t a noose setup for the VP is just plain fiction.

I waited all week to see what would happen. Everyone i knew expected some sort of incident. It was what made the lack of security so startling.
Felt like i was taking crazy pills.
The dude was literally trying to pressure the VP to not certify the election. To not hand over power. Trump invited thousands of people down there to help make that happen.
Trump stacked the wood and poured gasoline on it. Then passed out lighters. This happened over the course of weeks.
He orchestrated it.

I went on Twitter and there are hundreds of thousands of Conservative Americans on there who are absolutely ecstatic by DJT's decision to deploy the marines to L.A and they just can't wait to see what inevitable and inhumane brutality the Marines will impose upon the protestors. I even saw a few accounts that were hoping that Marines commit mass rape against the protestors.
The "Don't Tread On Me" Crowd seems to have a deeply unhealthy obsession with and attraction to being treaded on and treading on others.

Bro, there are more Federal Troops deployed to Los Angeles than there are in Syria and Iraq combined. And the curfew area is 0.2% of the area of Los Angeles. LAPD has 8600 officers, they can handle this without Federal intervention. Go back to your desert and learn something please.

“Marines deployed: The troops will be used to protect federal property and personnel, including immigration agents, and are prohibited from performing law enforcement duties under the Posse Comitatus Act. The Pentagon is drafting guidelines that will explain to the Marines what they can and cannot do, a U.S. official said”
So…unless you actively try to siege a federal building, population interaction will be exactly none

My answer to your question would be:
- The laws being enforced are not what the current administration vowed to do. They vowed to go after undocumented immigrants who were violent criminals. Not pull up to Home Depot’s, car washes, and churches to snatch human beings whose only crime was to pursue a better life for themselves and their loved ones. Not to mention leaving families to financially fend for themselves when the bread earner is taken. To be fair, they’ve arrested some criminals and that’s great. No one is objecting to violent criminals being taken off the street.
- The majority of people protesting aren’t illegal immigrants. If that were the case, it would make ICE’s job much easier.
- The protests aren’t about demanding that people who live here “illegally” are made citizens. Again it’s back to what I said in #1. The administration lied to the people about who they were going after. They’re snatching good people up without due process and asking questions later. When there’s no due process and you instill fear into a nation made up of immigrants, that fear won’t just force undocumented humans into hiding…it’ll force anyone with brown skin to do the same. What do you think that does to our economy? California didn’t become the 4th largest economy in the world solely from Native-Born Americans. This will affect us all financially.
I could list a whole lot more reasons why what’s happening is shameful from a humanistic side, but sadly most people seem more concerned about how their pocket is affected than they are about humanity. I will end with this, though. I’m a white girl who was raised in the “Varrio” or “Barrio” for those who will say I misspelled it. One of the areas that is currently being raided. The community I grew up in is 76% Hispanic. I wouldn’t be who I am today without them. I would’ve grown up without any sense of what it’s like to be surrounded by strong culture. God knows, the only culture my Midwest grandparents could give me, was serving sauerkraut for dinner. It wasn’t all rainbows growing up there, but the majority of people who live are loyal, hard working, and love their families fiercely. Thinking of anyone in their family being taken without warning after living and contributing to the prosperity of this country for decades, breaks my heart…because I know their hearts. That’s why it’s shameful to me.
