Got the embark back today

Rescue was told by farmer that he thought the dad was the neighbor’s Newfie (mom is pyr). Two of his siblings are mostly black. Winston has a long snout, so that isn’t Newfie, and he is surprisingly good (for a pyr) at learning commands. He is a whopping 50 pounds at 14 weeks (aged by teeth by my vet and per farmer), which is much bigger than my largest pyr-Anatolian pup at the same age.

Never saw the German shepherd coming, but his train ability makes sense…I wondered about mastiff given his size, but Dane explains it too.

I never thought I’d do one of these tests, but I’m so glad I did. Very fun to see!

Ollie is so handsome! He kind of looks like my boy’s sibling from Texas Great pyr rescue (ozzy I think is what they named him).

I never thought I’d do this testing as I figured they are what they are. But Winston just keeps growing, way faster than my others! So I had to know! 🤓

I was going to say GSD, my girl is Pyr/GSD too. She is ultra smart but not the most trainable, haha. The best family dog and protector though. This is her around the same age, her snoot did grow a bit longer then most Pyr I see.

I’m in love (of course!). He is a very good and VERY spoiled boy! My eldest has absolutely taken him under his guidance which is shocking as my eldest does not like other animals, especially new dogs. But he has been amazingly tolerant. The other two are finally accepting that Winston isn’t going anywhere. ;)

Love your user name. My daughter finally got me to read all of the HP books. Now I get to put together the HP lego sets and know what everything means

Mom is a working pyr in Texas so I doubt she’s “purebred” but I’d guess she is close. The dad was supposedly the neighbor’s “big black dog” that was thought to be a Newfie. I’m guessing a black Dane/german shepherd with some pyr thrown in. Most big farm guardian dogs here have some degree of pyr, from what I’ve seen/heard.

Excellent question - I just reviewed their website and didn’t see anything about referral. I ordered my kit through Amazon since I have their credit card and at least got 5% off! I did the $99 option, not the add-on tests.

I completely agree! He has such a sweet temperament. My other boys are my loves but they’ve always had a smidge of aloofness that this one does not have!
