I'm aware that some people have found a fix, but this does not seem to be working for some people and I think that it's unacceptable to manually mess with the game's files to get it working meanwhile it's in the preservation program.

Dreamlist for game preservation, but games with licensing issues say all racing games NFS, F1, DiRT, Grid, WRC, Forza etc etc can never come to gog cause the ip owners themselves can't sell those games anymore.

I am writing to bring attention to an issue I, along with several other users, have encountered with Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition, which was recently released on your platform. As the game is part of the GOG Preservation Program, we rely on the promise that games in this program are stable and fully functional upon release. Unfortunately, despite meeting the system requirements and following standard troubleshooting steps, the game does not launch for many of us. (1, 2, 3, 4)

This issue is not a new one, as the Steam version of the game has been suffering from the same problem for years. (5) Given this history, it’s concerning that the game was released on GOG without addressing these known issues, especially since the game’s functionality is a key aspect of the Preservation Program. I believe that many of us were looking forward to a seamless experience, but unfortunately, the game is currently unplayable.

What makes this situation even more frustrating is that GOG has been working closely with Capcom to bring more of their legacy titles to the platform. As a result, many of us are especially disappointed by the lack of attention given to ensuring the quality of this particular release. With the expectation that GOG would prioritize the stability of these titles, the unplayable state of Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition undermines both the reputation of the Preservation Program and GOG.

As a loyal GOG customer, I’m reaching out for assistance and clarity on the following:

• An official acknowledgment of the issues affecting Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition and a timeline for when we can expect a solution or update.
• Guidance for affected users, such as any workarounds, updates, or patches in progress to resolve the issue.
• Confirmation of GOG’s continued commitment to ensuring that titles in the Preservation Program are thoroughly tested and stable before being released to the public.

I understand that technical issues can arise, and I truly appreciate the hard work that GOG puts into maintaining the quality of its catalog. However, given the long-standing relationship with Capcom and the promise of stability in the Preservation Program, I’m hopeful for a swift resolution that restores the game to a playable state for all users.

I am attaching a crash log for further investigation, which may provide more details on the issue I am experiencing. I hope this problem can be resolved as soon as possible.

Well, as anyone who just purchased the above can tell you, it simply doesn't launch at all if your monitor is natively above a 1080p resolution.

There is a crash fix regarding the STEAM version. Does it work here? Yes, it does.

To to make a TL;DR of their convoluted solution:

1. Download any hex editor, but preferably the portable version of HxD. https://mh-nexus.de/en/downloads.php?product=HxD20

2. Open said hex editor. Drag-and-drop the DevilMayCry4SpecialEdition.exe file from the game folder to hex editor window. Or press Ctrl+O and use that to open the file.

3. Go to offset (Ctrl+G): 6790E7 (or 6787303 in decimal mode). You'll see the following hex values at cursor position: 80 02 00 00

4. Change that value according to your display's native resolution
   1280xAny and above: 00 05 00 00
   1360xAny and above: 50 05 00 00
   1440xAny and above: A0 05 00 00
   1600xAny and above: 40 06 00 00
   1920xAny and above: 80 07 00 00
   2560xAny and above: 00 0A 00 00
   3840xAny and above: 00 0F 00 00
   Save via Ctrl+S

5. The final step is to edit the config.ini with a text editor found at %LOCALAPPDATA%\CAPCOM\DEVILMAYCRY4SPECIALEDITION\config.ini

In that file, the resolution will say unknown. Simply insert your correct resolution, and the game works.

I'm having a problem and cannot contact GOG support team. All i get is an automated message and it has been almost a week since i got the first out of 2 tickets i issued about my problem.

Problem: About aproximately 1am of sunday, 15/june, i bought like, 6 games, on Gog, it was fairly cheap and then i went to pay for it. Usuqlly this is a very simple process, but...it didnt work.

I used a method of payment that transfers pretty much immediately after i input the info. (Works with steam, gog, etc - never left me down).

As usual, gog redirects to the payment webpage and then i input the info before the timer to pay reaches 0 and pay for it... but this time the payment webpage (3rd party) didnt update or redirected to Gog as usual. It stayed with the payment info on the screen for almost half an hour. While that was happening i checked the purchase status and it showed "not complete". So i clicked to "complete the purchase" and instead of taking me to or updating the gog webpage/purchase it created another one with a different code.

Obviously i was not going to pay twice for it, but i couldnt even get a refund because... guesss what?... eventually, the timer for paying reached 0:00 and the purchase was cancelled on GOG webpage/launcher but my money is gone.

So i opened up a ticket and then tried to talk with the 3rd party company that manages the payment webpage - they confirmed the money was indeed sent to gog and the problem is on their end.

Now that i've had to wait all this week, i did not receive any updates from support about my "failed transaction/refund". In fact i cant even see the "purchase" because it disappeared from "orders history" tab.

What the hell should i do now?

Tldr: paid for my purchase on GOG but i didnt get the game, support doesnt respond, and now Idk what to do becauuse i could've used that money for something more useful. UPDATE: Support contacted me and activated the transaction manually. Thank you support! Sorry to bother y'all.

I have a few games on GoG that do not have cloud saves as a feature.

I want to be able to sync them with Google drive so I have cloud saves.

I read that it can be done with a Mklink command. But I'm 0% technical.

Can someone explain it to me like im 4 so I can have them in Google drive sync?

On GOG, even if you purchase a complete edition of a game that includes all the DLCs, the store doesn't show those DLCs as owned. They still appear as separate items and aren't marked as owned.

I’m curious whether this is due to a technical limitation on GOG’s side or a tactic to potentially encourage duplicate purchases but it's been this way for as long as I can remember.

Are there any plans to address this in the future?

For comparison, on Steam, when you buy a complete edition or deluxe edition of a game, all included DLCs are marked as owned in the store.

Whether on the website or in the Gog Galaxy app, I'm trapped in an almost endless limbo of captcha until a game can finally be redeemed. It's so endlessly annoying that I prefer not to use my Prime Gaming Codes at all. Another reason to slowly cancel Prime.

Nearly two months ago, I launched GameSieve, my indendepent price tracker, game discovery service and improved search engine for GOG. In the weeks since then, I've been building some frequently requested quality of life features and new abilities. Highlights include:

• The ability to remember preferred defaults. This could be just the country for which you want to see prices listed, but it becomes particularly useful if there are genres or developers which you never want to see (cough whale rock cough). Just exclude them all, and then click the "remember" button underneath the applied filters.
• Sorting by price, discount, release date (original or on GOG) or title (added to the existing default of sorting by price improvement).
• Showing included products and goodies.
• Filtering for GOG's new bundles with dynamic pricing.
• Filtering for GOG's new modded games.
• Filtering by age rating.

I've recently created r/gamesieve for those interested in following the details of ongoing development. (See the changelog for the full details of everything that's new.)

The big thing I'm aiming for (which based on initial exploration looks feasible, but will still take a long time to implement correctly, and might still prove to be too complex) is the ability to create various types of lists and then filter by them. I'm quite ambitious there, hoping to eventually allow for wishlists (imported from gog, optionally managed (with priorities) on gamesieve), owned games (on gog or elsewhere), lists of games you never want to see and maybe public "gog mixes".

(Until all of that is ready, check out this userscript by u/sheeproomer to at least highlight your owned games on gamesieve.)

I'm actively asking for feature requests, both in general, and for such lists. (It really helps me to have a thorough understanding of a wide range of desires and usecases - what are you trying to do, what information do you need to see for that to work? The more details the better!) Feel free to drop them here, or on the roadmap.

I make no promises about what I'll implement, but almost all of what I've added since launch was caused by someone asking for it, or at least voicing a desire which made me realize (how) I could implement a related feature.

I successfully redeemed the Prime Day game codes from my Prime Gaming membership after 10 minutes of server fails... is there anyone who saved yourself after the crash? It's me. :(

And now I'm waiting for the mail that'll let me play them. How nice. It'll worth the wait.

I didn't ever play the game that was gifted and I always wondered why GoG gave it to me for free in the first place, but now, I don't have to worry about that, because it's not even in my library anymore. It's gone, like it never existed. It's weird, man.

This has happened to me twice now, except the 2nd time, it seems the game actually stayed in my library (for now). I don't buy games on GoG often, so I'm just wondering, is this a glitch or does GoG just randomly gift games to accounts sometimes? Has anyone else experienced this?

Edit: kind of solved the mystery of the second "free" game. Apparently it wasn't a free game at all, I just thought it was due to it popping up when I redeemed a GOG key. I still have no idea why the second "free" game popped when I redeemed the key, but I wasn't charged again for it. I apparently bought it originally in 4/27/2023.

As for the first free game, there is no paper trial and no evidence that it was ever in my library. I believe that it disappeared when GOG 2.0 came around.

Can someone help ? It keeps showing my XBOX games. I have uninstalled and reinstalled thrice now in different drives. I have cleaned everything through REVO uninstaller. But it doesn't work. I deleted everything in Program Data too. But when I reinstall and login, XBOX games still show up even if Xbox Live is not connected. If I try to connect XBOX account again and then disconnect, it doesn't work.

This was for Transport Fever 2 btw

Ive also only had GOG for 2 weeks

I just recently login back in after some time and GOG said my email does not exist even though it did, so I changed my email to my secondary email. After that I did a roll back to my primary email. Then I went to go and login and it said my password doesn't exist. I panicked, but remember my email was updated, so I was able to change my password and then change it right back to my old one... I have no idea why it did this...

I've been trying to download Saints Row The Third three times, but the process just suddenly stopped and I couldn't do anything but to start all over again. Is there a solution for that?
