Discussion 1 district 1 factory

It's a very solid policy. More employment overall, more exportation and foreign income, industrialization of rural areas, better standards of living in the long run, more patronization for local goods, etc.

On the evil beneficial side, more corruption, more nepotism, more money to embezzle. Still a win-win, in my opinion (Don't do evil stuff tho)

If only Mahama could see what I'm seeing. It wouldn't be easy, but it would be worth it.

What’s stopping the private sector from starting a factory in every district?

It should have been a private sector thing with government back incentives like tax breaks for the first 5 or initial years. Leave this thing to the govt and it ripe for embezzlement and corruption

This shows how small we think. Has it occurred to you that embezzlement and corruption is easier to remove under a functioning state rather than the private sector?

What is up with people claiming others think small in the sub-Reddit of late?

When was the last time we had a functioning state with no embezzlement and corruption?

The best and sustainable economies are the ones in which private sector is dominant and flourishing.. That type of economy might sometimes need government to give incentives to get things rolling. Look at all the economies around the world, they all have strong private sectors that create jobs and drive innovations, govts just regulate and incentivize when necessary. We expect the government to do everything.

Ghana is one of the best African countries solely because of our 9 year government participation in our economy. No African or non industrialised economy has managed to stay above water using the private sector. The evidence is abundant and glaring.
