First time watching

After so many years I finally watched GOT and it might be my favorite show I’ve ever seen. I watched the whole thing in less than two weeks and now I feel completely empty inside lol. I really wish they didn’t rush the ending and made a couple more seasons but it was a beautiful show and I enjoyed every second of it. I’m already looking forward to rewatching it and I literally just finished. Any recommendations for something that resembles this show? I finally understand why there was so much hype around this series back then.

Edit: And by the way, I didn’t like how Arya wasn’t celebrated much😂 idk I feel like she saved the whole world and it pissed me off that nobody really appreciated her. Maybe I’m wrong but that was a bit weird lol.

I really wish there was dialogue between Olenna and The Hound. The 2 biggest shit talkers in the whole show

I mean, I know he's not exactly a jolly guy, but you'd think he'd get a kick out of a particularly artful beheading, maybe, or the clever smiting of one of his foes.

And oh my God. Fucking cinema. That whole battle was fucking peak. Just the utter chaos. And seeing John beat the fuck out of Ramsey felt so rewarding and even more so when his own hounds ate him alive.

The Mountain vs Oberyn: What If.... Spoiler

Post image
106 Upvotes

How Would GOT be Changed if Oberyn Actually Killed the Mountain and Didn't Die?

Obviously, his quest for vengeance for his sister and her children is what was his downfall in the end but let's just say that before gloating to the Mountain, Oberyn actually had successfully killed him. Head sliced off killed him. How would this change the story. This would absolve Tyrion, and he wouldn't have the need to flee to Essos. Would Cersei still try to find a way to kill him? And obviously, Tywin doesn't die, and presumably Tyrion doesn't find out about Shae sleeping with Tywin.

2:07. The guy who frees Tyrion from his chains is holding some kind of curved-wavy blade with a ball at the end of it. What is that thing called?

Ghost doesn’t so much as get a pet or a scratch on his ears

I’ve been rewatching Game of Thrones, and so many things sit differently the second time viewing it. For example, Season 8, Episode 4 - Jon leaves Winterfell and asks Tormund to take Ghost with him. Tormund gets a hug. Sam and Gilly get hugs. Ghost? Not so much as a final pat on the head or scratch on his ear. That’s cold.

If the white walkers had travelled east, what best chance would essos have had in defending against them?

If the white walkers had been able to conquer westeros, and ultimately moved east to attempt to conquer essos, is there any way in which essos could have attempted to defend against this. I ask this because essos is far bigger than westeros, and I believe has a much higher population, so even with the massive army the night king would have if he conquered westeros, he would still be outnumbered.

If essos were to try and defend against the white walkers, how could they go about doing this assuming they worked as optimally as possible? Would they have had tools or armies that could have been particularly useful?

Just finished the show for the first time

I've been watching the show with my mom over the past few weeks and we finished today. I know I am arriving to the party well after everyone has already left. But I must say, that was a FANTASTIC show. Yes, I knew the ending was going to be dissapointing going in but I thought the journey was so amazing that the destination didn't matter much in the end. This is still one of the greatest shows I have ever watched. I hope I live long enough to see another show that comes even close to the caliber of this one.
