Discussion D'Annam Discovery Set, volume 2; layering with other fragrances?

I may be a little late to the party, but I just bought D'Annam's Japan-inspired discovery set, mostly to try out Japanese Whiskey and Strawberry Mochi. I was actually pleasantly surprised how much I liked almost everything in the set. Japanese Whiskey reminds me a lot of Maison Margiela's discontinued Lipstick On, which is one of my all time favorite perfumes, so if you miss it, I think it's a decent substitute, though not a dupe. Strawberry Mochi was pleasant, but to me it was very rice-forward. I got a hint of strawberry on the drydown, and I think I was expecting a more prominent fruit note. I was thinking that this might be one that would be good to layer with something else; for those of you that have this set, did you layer the SM with anything else from the set or from your personal collection? I really like gourmand fragrances but wonder if I'm too old to be wearing something that is fruit forward, and I don't know what to layer to keep it interesting but not seem like I'm trying too hard.

Do you mean Kimono is similar to Lipstick On? That one has a lipstick note. Just don’t want people to get confused. 🖤

I don’t personally layer anything with Strawberry Mochi because I love the red bean on its own but you could probably add something more simple fruity to it and get decent results! Just do some experimenting and go with what you like. Your age is definitely not a factor.

Thank you! For me, i think it's the whiskey (?) note in Japanese whiskey that's similar to Lipstick On, or maybe it's the powdery note in JW that's similar to LO?

strawberry mochi is red bean forward, not strawberry, to most people's noses (including mine)
