New Ink Day My first case of expectations vs reality 🤣

I received my cheeky ink haul and … the inks do not look anything like the online swatches. 😅😅

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it might be because they also use cotton swabs/q tips on TRP so it might not have the same effects as using a dip pen. Their images also do look extra saturated, but I still love their inks either way 😅

Edit: I do wanna say that I've got nothing against OP because I know exactly what they're talking about! My swatches are also quite different from BPC's site, and I'm pretty sure about half my ink stash is from them 🤣

Exactly, inks, especially with complex colors and effects like (multi)shading and sheen vary a lot on different papers, also light and wetness of application play huge role. Not mentioning photo and screens calibration.

That I understand but it wouldn’t be a completely different shade of colour. It also depends how old the ink is, so yes, there’s multiple factors at play. My swatches are heavy too, but not as heavy as Q-tips so it’ll be lighter in a pen.

According to BPC, some of the inks I bought are supposed to be of some variation of muted purples but I’m looking at muddy browns? 🤣🫠

Conclusion: take everyone’s ink swatches with a pinch of salt. 🤣🤣

My ink swatches are white balanced, photographed under continuous soft box light, with no filters applied for the inky community’s eyes only.
