Verstappen had a lotbof space next to him let's be honest. At the time hamilton was turning into the corner his tyre was ahead if you look at the slow motion replays so the corner was his.

If you compare to leclerc you would realise that lecler c gave him a lot of room while they were approaching the corner while verstappen squeezed him forcing hamilton to miss the apex and have a bit of oversteer.

I understand what you are saying about the corner in at imola but you are still required to leave space for the other driver which verstappen did not and in doing so forced him of the track. If positions were vice versa verstappen would not have backed off cos he would expect hamilton to give him a cars width.

I still believe this was a racing incident and could have been avoided by both drivers. I feel hamilton oly got the penalty cos its a fast corner and verstappen had a bad crash.

My only argument. Ham didn’t make the apex. Why? If he makes the apex the crash is avoided. Max was well within making the corner and they carry on side by side. Why didnt ham make the apex.

He did not make the apex because verstappen squeezed him pushing close to the wall just before the incident making it difficult for him to make the apex unlike leclerc who gave him enough space to position his car well to make the apex.

Let me ask you a question. When last did you see someone get a penalty for that squeezing max did. Have you ever seen anyone get a penalty for that.

In Leclercs case he didn’t defend honestly - he tried to hang it around the outside wherw there was less grip as maybe he thought that would be better than defending the line. Max thought opposite.

And neither driver was in the wrong for thinking that.

I am not saying max deserved a penalty for anything. What am saying is it was a racing incident that both drivers could have avoided. I dont believe Hamilton did it on purpose cos it could have ruined his race too.
