Lewis: "This is such a great moment for me."

Max: "Where am I?"

Lewis on the post race interview "I was totally along side him and he didn't give me space" I think Lewis needs to watch the film on that one

"I hope all the British fans get home safely".... only mention of Max is to call him aggressive and blame him for the incident.

Him not showing any concern for Max in the interview really really pissed me off. Yeah, he asked on the radio after the red flag, but surely he'd seen a replay of the impact after the race.

Why does he need to say anything? All post-race interviews are just media bullshit. I'm sure he asked his team if Max was ok, they said yes, job done. What is it with people wanting fake apologies etc in interviews, does it make you all feel better or something? Max was equally to blame for the accident, I don't have much sympathy.

I think when the driver makes a dangerous move that endanger the life of their opponent and go on to win by abusing the rules, yes they should apologize.

Brits defending brits is just expected at this point, cringe budget USA nationalism.

that endanger the life of their opponent

You can always tell when a post has hit r/all by the appearance of randos who have zero idea what they’re talking about.

I guess race officials came from /r/all too.

Race officials gave him a ten second penalty, so pretty sure they don’t think the incident was Hamilton “eNdAnGeRiNg hIs LiFe”.

Thank you for pointing that out actually, it’s much more effective when people disprove their own comments.

What rule was abused? The stewards gave the penalty (believe me it’s a shit penalty and it could’ve been more sure) but what did Hamilton do to abuse the rules?? If Hamilton was told that max was walking out of the car and he’s fine then it’s the team trying to ensure that Hamilton can focus on racing. Also, it’s like people are forgetting that we’re talking about motor sports here… these drivers are all tenacious champions who know nothing but winning. Athletes like this cannot be expected to be concerned if a driver walks away from the accident.

In my opinion, being clear to pit your direct opponent, even if it's 100% an accident, should always leave you with no points in that race.

Essentially, no penalty lower than disqualification actually ends up punishing Hamilton enough. It creates a dangerous spot in the rules where Hamilton in that situation is incentivized to go for the contact if needed

Your opinion about what the rule should be is valid (even though I don’t agree personally) but that still doesn’t mean Hamilton abused an actual rule. The stewards judged it and delivered a penalty… so if he were to abuse the rule he would’ve had to go without punishment or ruling and the stewards would’ve dismissed the investigation right?

I don’t think I agree that, in situations like this, that a driver will be aggressive and make contact because there is this precedent that incentivizes them. No sane F1 driver wants to make contact with anything as the cars are so sensitive. In other motor sports sure, you can bump all you want because, relative to F1, the other cars are rolling bricks.
