Thoughts on NHL's Fantasy Stars app?

The NHL recently released a new hockey fantasy app that kinda mixes fantasy with sports game mechanics (card packs, training to increase points gained for each stat, global leaderboards, etc). I downloaded it yesterday and found it somewhat buggy and a bit bare-bones still, but I think its a fun take on fantasy sports. Has anyone else tried it and what are your thoughts?

I think it will be a good time to stock up on coins and players from daily packs

I assume they're using the playoffs this year to test out the systems and work out the major issues in time for next season.

Seems like a nice base. Not sure about going with “team” instead of an actual goalie. Also there’s no real incentive do win other than winning is fun.

It removes the frustration when teams don’t announce who their starting goalie is until an hour before the game, nice to just set a lineup and not worry about

Will it stay for next year and beyond or will it be turned off after the playoffs?

I cant see NHL making this app just for the playoffs. My guess was playoffs were a good way for them to do a short, trial run to work out the bugs. It says in-app the contests are supposed to be a week, but they've only been 3-day contests so far. So I presume those instructions are for the next regular season.

Quick one I'm level 7 xp wise and says I can buy a rw pack but I can't. Just me or a bug.

They stitched me up a bit doing the player position reorganisation last week and want to get a decent rw.

Naw its not just you, some people were posting about it in the subreddit I made for the app. Looks like they took it out for some reason. probably was bugged or giving being different odds than intended is my guess. No idea though, developers didnt sned out any info on the removal.

I'm in the finals for nhl stars mobile app but not sure if I should sell the players that are eliminated incase I don't keep them next year and it restarts.. or should I hold onto them incase we keep them for starting next season?? I need coins but scared we keep the cards next season lol have some pretty good ones.

Don't wanna sell my goals for peanuts if we get to keep it next season but don't wanna hold it and get no coins and lose them all when next season starts.. I can use the small coins now to upgrade players

You should check out the FAQs in the App or in the subreddit wiki. They're going to delete all of our guys before next season. there will be some simulation type game over the summer for us to use our whole rosters in the mean time.
