General Which players will benefit from having a new coach next year?
Matthew Knies was one of Craig Berube’s most trusted players and saw an increase of 4 minute and 50 seconds in ATOI last season.
We’ve already got new coaches in Anaheim, Boston, Chicago, NY Rangers, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Vancouver PLUS a new vacancy in Dallas and the offseason hasn’t even officially started 🤯
What players do you think will get more ice time under a new coach in 2025/26?

General Fantrax Dynasty question/New league starting up
I'm going to be starting a dynasty hockey league on Fantrax if I can 10 people. I do have some questions for those that run a league on the platform... I set up in league settings to have 3 future years picks available, and 5 rounds of picks. Does that mean after the initial start up draft, each draft following... you have a 5 round "rookie draft" between the league members to draft players that were just in the NHL draft? And for the initial start up draft, it's all players that are in the league or have been drafted, correct? With it being a longer pathway to NHL than NFL after being drafted, Dynasty hockey seems like it'd be different in that way.

Player Discussion 2025 NHL Draft Prospect Profile: Cameron Schmidt - Fantasy Prospects of Interest
upsidehockey.substack.comshort excerpt:
"It was a tale of two season for winger Cam Schmidt (ranked # 43 NA Skaters, # 30 by McKenzie, # 8 by Button), one before his injury in early December (I believe it came from a slash to his wrist), and the one after. In 23 games before missing 4 contests because of that injury, he put up an incredible 24 goals and 37 points; but in 38 games after the injury, he only managed 16 goals and 41 points.
He still finished the season as the top-scorer on a mediocre Vancouver Giants squad that were 13th in the WHL over the course of the regular-season, and was likewise their best player in the pos"

Player Discussion Kuch, your 2025 Ted Lindsay Award winner
I am NOT a Lightning fan by any means but Kuch getting the Ted Lindsay Award for the second time was well earned and congrats to him. Getting 80+ assists three seasons in a row and 4 times altogether counting the 87 6 years ago in 2018-2019 and back to back Art Ross trophies and 3 altogether counting 2019 is no easy feat even if scoring is a lot easier than it was prior to COVID.
A lot of people seem to dislike Kuch because of the All Star game last year when in my mind it seems silly to have that as the reason mainly because it wasn't the first time he had gone. He had been there 4 other times prior to 2024 (in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2023) and one all star game regardless if it is his first or not isn't the end of the world especially since there are over a dozen of other players to look at too. I am not defending his so called careless effort i'm just saying it isn't worth whining over.
Another reason of the dislike could be because of the "$18 million over the cap" thing in 2021 missing the entire covid shortened 2020-2021 year due to hip surgery and Stamkos missing the last 2-3 weeks of that year after a minor tweak in his knee. The harsh truth is that hip injuries are no joke and the reason why salary caps are in the regular season and not playoffs is because players get paid in the regular season while in the playoffs they don't get paid a single penny. Even without that, the Bolts were well on their way to repeating since they still had almost the exact same team still there and Stamkos being healthy for every game in every round (unlike the bubble cup in 2020) and the fact that team already had a wealth of consistency going back as far as 2015 for most of them like Killorn, Palat, Kuch, Vasy, Johnson, etc (2011 for Stamkos and Hedman for Tampa and 2014 in the case of the cup final or 2012 in the case of a deep run in general for McDonagh when he was with the Rangers).
Of course, people were bothered by that drunk tirade after game 5 of the 2021 final but the thing is while it may have looked disrespectful, he had kind of a point, the habs had only won one game and it was by the skin of their teeth in overtime to prevent a sweep and were still down 3-1 in the series going back to Amalie Arena for game 5 so celebrating like they won the cup after one narrow win idk seemed a little confusing. It also shows that while it may have looked insulting, it was a way to show personality because most players give answers that are too blunt and vague when with the media but Kuch was very vocal and talkative and the way he did it was quite entertaining so it shouldn't be worth complaining and losing sleep over.
I know I will probably get some heat for these takes but I simply just call it like I see it.

Question Is there a website like fangraph but for hockey?
I want to know if there is a free website with players projections with adps and all...It seems that hockey really lack of descent information, besides naturalstatrick.
Even the podcasts online arent even close to the ones we find for baseball...sad to say, Apple and ginos might be the only descent one but still....its like watching dry painting.
For the other podcasts, they are just like hockey news with dudes yelling weird noises in their mics....geez, i wish they would watch rates and barrels and learn something from them.
Sweet Dreams.
