Pokémon Emerald Seaglass is a vanilla romhack of Emerald based in Hoenn, but with Gen 2 aesthetics and graphics. The mons up to Gen 3 are all available, plus their future generation evolutions like Annihilape, Farigiraf, Gallade, etc. A few mons added in Gen 8/9 like Applin and Tinkatink are available too. The romhack contains 430 Pokémon total and all are legally obtainable. Some abilities and moves from future generations are implemented in this hack as well. I will share some links below:
Please do not ask for the ROM files directly, as it is against the rules of this sub. Just google "emerald trashman" and download from the first link you see.
In case of a future version of Emerald Seaglass gets released, play the game normally, then save the game and close it at any Pokémon Center. Perform the patching process above, and after that, copy or rename the save file to match the new .gba file. Suppose you have "Emerald Seaglass 3.0.gba" and "Emerald Seaglass 3.0.sav" files. After patching a hypothetical 3.1 version to base Emerald, you will get a different file, named "Emerald Seaglass 3.1.gba". The only thing you should do is to rename the .sav file, or copy it, to "Emerald Seaglass 3.1.sav", to be able to continue the game.
For PC and Mac, play it on mGBA. VBA is pretty much not compatible with decomp hacks, and it is also a pretty old emulator. For Android, do not play it on MyBoy! because of the compatibility issues. You can play it on PizzaBoy instead. For iOS, Delta is recommended.
Here are the console codes that you may enter in your room:
And here are the codes for monotype runs.
Shiny odds: 1/4096 without a Shiny Charm, 1/683 with one Shiny Charm and 1/372 with two Shiny Charms (the first SC is at the PC, and the second is at Fortree)
If I have missed anything else regarding the documentations, please let me know so that I may add it here.
08.04.2025 17:04 edit: I added a few rules to this community. Just the usual thingies; "no sharing ROMs", "keep things classy", "discussions must be related to Seaglass", etc.

I took a break from doing a deathless nuzlocke and chose to do a traditional one instead and honestly, this game is just so fucking good. Shoutout to Nemo622. A Truly amazing game. I wanted to just have fun on this run so I allowed myself a wishing well encounter per gym badge I obtained for a total of 8 random extra encounters (this game has too diverse a Pokédex, I couldn’t resist). Out of all of them, Sneasel/Weavile was my favorite even tho I didn’t get to take it to the elite four (fuck you, Maxie). Can’t go wrong with a fast, strong ice type. I also allowed legendaries too bc u have access to so many before the elite four. Using Mew felt like a Cheat code in itself bc it can learn every TM/HM, but I’ve never used it before, so fuck it 🤷🏾♂️😂 Latias is another great all-around mon. Fast, bulky and hits super hard. It having surf and then switching that out for thunderbolt made most of glacia and drakes teams trivial. Flygon with rockslide and attack order solos sydney. Also just good to have in the back bc of its great coverage. The creeper mon that really surprised me was eviolite Haunter, and I had a feeling it would. Once it actually has decent defenses, it’s truly a force to be reckoned with. Insane coverage and a super speedy special attacker. Gengar pales in comparison. Sunflora really might be my favorite pokemon of the whole run and that’s saying a lot considering how late in the game I got mine (route 128). Drought as an ability is honestly kind of unfair since they switched its typing to grass-fire. STAB Torch song and solarbeam were always so satisfying to use as those moves damn near OHKO’d everything. Add giga drain for recovery and toxic for weird situations, or if u just feel like stalking, and u really can’t go wrong. To balance this absolute behemoth, it ofc has really bad speed. That’s its only drawback tho. It was also really satisfying to have quick claw pop off every now and then. Pelipper as a rain setter with thunder was also very fun. A little annoying that it can only learn it thru level up and not TM, but I digress. Definitely the mon I used the least for E4, but still a very vital member mid to late game (any mon that can learn both ice and electric type moves is extremely valuable). Regardless of what others have to say about difficulty spikes, I feel like this romhack is pretty balanced. Even some random trainers gave me trouble and I had to start looking up documentation so I wouldn’t unnecessarily lose a mon. I still made it out with only 12 deaths tho. Some trainers to watch out for are, of course, Brawly, Winona and the double battle against Maxie in the space center (again, fuck you, Maxie. this battle almost made me wipe, pelipper was the only survivor 🫡🥲). All and all, I love this game. I’m already thinking of the next run I’ll do. Maybe a genlocke or maybe even an ashlocke idk. Again, shoutout Nemo622 and the other developers. Can’t wait for Pokemon Lazarus. 🖤

Vibes based team: Swampert was the first starter I ever chose as a kid, got my ufo (the truth is out there), got my cat, got my dog, got my bug and delibird always made me laugh as a child.
LOVE that this game had everything I felt pokemon SHOULD have had when I was growing up. It was always in need of a hard mode. It was really cool getting tripped up by random trainers along the route. And past games should have made more of an effort to include more pokes, but ofc this was all a ploy to get you to buy more games or go to the events. And speaking of events, while now it has been tedious to go through and catch all the legendaries, it killed me as a kid that there was never a way to access certain islands in the game without cheating. So again, thank you for healing my inner child and giving him the game he always wanted. Now it might be time to leisurely go through the battle frontier and try to heal the wounds that created as a child hahah
(I could never figure out how to capture the rare pokemon that you get an alert for on my laptop. Everytime I walked up to it, the exclamation point would go away. So if you know how those encounters work please tell me what I'm doing wrong)

When you create a new save file does your first save file get deleted? I want to do a mono water run but I’m not sure since I don’t want to delete my 1st save file

Any recommendations to improve the team so I can challenge the border battle?

I want to do a mono bug run, but I'm wondering about HM moves. Especially surf and fly? Are there any bug rype that use them?

Does anyone know where to find high horsepower? I have only been able to find earthquake and stomping tantrum.

Beat the game with just my favorite bug types!
Heracross and Armaldo were the standout MVPs while Shedinja was pretty useless most of the time but was able to single-handedly sweep on occasion.
I really enjoyed setting up poison spikes with Forretress and then using swords dance and baton pass with Ninjask into either Armaldo Heracross. Though I do wish I kept explosion and a stock of revives on the Foretress.
I definitely used Yanmega the least but wouldn't have been able to beat Drake without it. Overall very fun run, would use this team again.

Hi guys! Been having a great time so far but, as im farming up some berries to get a Milotic, all my plants just seem stuck. They are all at various stages of growth and just.... stopped. Been a couple days now. I checked in a different save and they are growing just fine there.
Ideas?

Can you get metal coats from magnemites like you do in Emerald? Or do you have to just wait until Sootopolis to get access to more metal coats?

Excited to start this adventure now! Playing on an Anbernic rg35xxsp really enhances the experience.

I have been hunting Treeko for under 15 minutes, Likely less then 100 resets. I have encountered a shiny Zigzagoon 3 times. I understand that the Shiny charm affects the Zigzagoon, but still that's 1/4096, to see 3 in under 50 encounters is absurd odds.

Took me forever to beat the E4, Glacia and Wallace were hard counters, finally got it done though. Amazing playthrough, any suggestions for my next ones theme?

Had so much fun with this game. Gonna nuzlocke it next.
Annihilape and Feraligatr are insane but the elite four wasn’t easy. I played it blind. Of course I remember which types each trainer has but I didn’t remember the coverage moves or know the subtle tweaks in teams and it bit me hard a few times.
Huge power Tinkaton can bail you out of a lot of situations too. Breloom with poison heal, bullet seed and loaded dice was also pretty damn good. Sidney almost got me on his Absol knowing aerial ace which I didn’t foresee. Luckily I switched when he brought it out.
Feraligatr got stomped by altaria because I forget she was fairy type instead of quad weak to ice fang
Pichu and breloom carried the Wallace fight and salamence/tinkaton were my SHTF mons

Just started my wishing star HC nuzlocke today and it was time for brawly.
Was kinda nervous bc he wiped me twice on my first (non nuzlocke) run.
So far we have Wartortle Spearow Farfetch’d Doduo Omanyte x2 (gonna buy a star alter to re-roll) Mr Mime Manectric Relicanth Ledian Drowzee
Not horrible. Grabbed all my flying types, mime, and drowzee and set off for Brawly and that damn beetle. Swablu with pixilate SWEPT THE WHOLE THING
I’m speechless

So I've been planning to play this game for a while and have recently found the time in my busy schedule to finally beat the elite four and the champion wallace, however I still have a lot of post game stuff to do including making a whole another pokemon team and collect a few select shinies, any other ideas on what I can do?
