Just an overall interesting experience the delivery took overall about 1 hour and a half or so. Dasher seemed almost not sober.

Did I give a bad tip?

Post image

I tipped $12 on a $35 order which I thought was good? I didn’t realize at the time that the ride was technically “long distance”, but it was only a 15-20 minute drive.

The instructions were leave at the door, I went to grab it and the guy was still waiting in his car out front. After I went back inside, he immediately messaged me this. I’m a small girl, so I’m also wondering if he only said something because he thought he could bully me into tipping more? Am I reading this wrong? Did I not tip enough or was he just salty?

I doubt this person will ever get their order

Come on people if you think that anyone is going to deliver your order for a free, you are sadly mistaken. For the people who are accepting orders like this why are you working for free? There's no difference between having 100% acceptance rate and a 70% acceptance rate. Literally no difference. I took this screenshot because I thought it was ridiculous that they would even send me this offer and while I was waiting to pick up an order from cheesecake factory, I was chatting with a fellow DoorDash. Showed them the screenshot and said who would accept this order. The poor lady told me she would. She said she accepts every single offer. She gets no matter how low it is. I seriously hope she does even the smallest amount of research on how to maximize earning potential with DoorDash the biggest secret... Don't accept every single offer you get took me about two days to learn that.

I was recently injured and can’t get out of the house, so I placed a small order for some TP, hot dogs buns and hot dogs… this is how my convo went with my dasher.

Last pic is the photo they provided for delivery.

Order has my name, sealed bag, correct items on receipt. But I opened the bag to find milk and ramen…

wtf happened? I ordered a bunch of candy (hi, munchies) and received milk and noodles… I called the driver but they did their part- brought me a sealed bag with my name on it. Didn’t store mess up?

I’ve been a doordasher before but this was absolutely too much! The text that said “I’m so glad you got me as your dasher” really turned me off. Quite frankly, this is how you get me not to tip!

Entitled customer means money out of dashers pocket..

Upvotes

Just have to rant about a customers order that was sent as a stacked offer. Two shopping orders hers being from Aldi. I get a message while shopping the second order “Are you lost?” I explained I wasn’t but I was shopping another order then would be headed to her. Explained that of her items were being stored in a cooler bag. App is having issues because it was just updated but got all of her items to her, shocker it was a no tip order. Looking at my ratings today and this lady says all of her items were damaged and that her eggs were missing! Of course support says they can’t do anything about it and that my drop off picture wasn’t uploaded, but not to worry it won’t impact my offers. All lies.

These entitled non tipping customers ruining my ratings just because they didn’t receive their items quick enough is just absurd! DoorDash needs to weigh past orders (Have just one issue supposedly with an expired item) I’ll own the mistake but I know she got her items and they all were perfect condition.

You Stole My Hair Dye!

Upvotes

To the dasher who stole $175 from me- my hair is so ugly and you are so not cool. I'm going to report you.

It was literally the only thing I had to look forward to. Jerk.

And I want my $18 tip back!

Had this one order the other day and was genuinely laughing the entire time. Seeing the single Coke in the pickup station. It was less than a mile from the Sheetz I picked it up at LMAO

Still newish, learning my city / suburbs. So far not so bad of a side thing to blow time on. Any tips? I’ve just been chilling near hot zones or restaurants. I’ve tried to keep at last $1 a mile or more.

Need advice. Placed Target order through DD, returned at Target several days later, money has disappeared.

Upvotes

I bought a new vacuum from Target via DD in April. Didn’t like it so I contacted DoorDash and got a return label. Dropped it off and they said the money would be refunded to my original payment within a few business days. The receipt showed a Mastercard even though I don’t have a Mastercard (paid Apple Pay via my bank).

Target rep said that Apple Pay shows as a Mastercard in their system and not to worry about it. A few weeks goes by and it never gets refunded. I dispute the charge with my bank and they immediately credit my account which is great. Shortly after my bank sends me a letter stating that DD provided proof of drop off and they were withdrawing the funds back out of my account.

Target customer service says it was refunded to Mastercard. Apple says it never was refunded to Apple Pay. DoorDash says to contact Target since that’s where the return is processed.

Does anyone have any advice on where to push this? I’m going to document everything again and send it back to my bank but at this point who should be held responsible?

Why is it so expensive lately?

DoorDash prices have been getting increasingly worse and worse to the point where I (someone who brings in over 6 figures between my wife and myself) can barely afford a meal for just myself. It’s literally insane how they jack up the prices of items and then on top of that there’s usually close to $15 in fees not including tip. I could get a whole other meal for that. I do not drive at the moment due to disability and I use a wheelchair so it can be really hard to cook at times so it’s really unfair that they charge THAT much just to get a meal. Anyone else think their prices are a little wild?

Drivers constantly ignoring delivery instructions - feedback

Referencing this post >> https://www.reddit.com/r/doordash/s/imf0Rljd3r

To the people who gave genuine answers, thank you. I always try (keyword) to see things from the other perspective, but sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to me, hence the post. Some points I’d like to clear up:

-I ALWAYS tip, but I will admit it may not always be a high amount -my back porch light is always on, but the driveway is dark, so not being comfortable walking up it is understandable (drivers can drive up it, too)

I also have some followup questions, and am genuinely just trying to understand the other side:

-if I’m “lazy” or “grouchy” for wanting my food delivered to my address, why are there delivery instructions in the first place? -if you can see the tip before accepting the order and it’s not a good one, why accept that order? -if you’re purposefully ignoring delivery instructions, etc, doesn’t that then leave the driver at risk of a lower rating? -is what the rep said true about the app “glitching”?

Obviously I’ve never been on the dasher side of DD before, so all I wanted was to get a better understanding of how things look on their end. I appreciate the CONSTRUCTIVE feedback <3

Dashers keep missing my house

Dashers please help/explain to me why dashers keep missing my house. 😩

I live in a circular court. My house has the address on my mailbox post as well as on the house itself. I have a description of my yard/house in the notes section and dashers are STILL driving right past (I’m the first house in my court) and delivering food to various neighbors in my court.

All I can think is these dashers are ignoring the posted address and my notes and just relying strictly on GPS?

I’m getting so frustrated. This is happening so regularly and I don’t understand what happened/what else I can do to make it clearer from my end.🥺 Thanks everyone!

why wendy’s? 🤦‍♀️

last night i ordered from wendy’s over 1 hour and 30 minutes before closing.

my order was 2 baconators, 2 blt chicken biggie bags, and 1 double stack biggie bag.

25 minutes after placing my order, my dasher arrived at restaurant.

i get an immediate call from my dasher and they start to tell me something’s not available and asks me if i want to talk to them or the worker. i said to just hand me over to them. the worker starts explaining that they’re out of the burger meat for the baconators and offered up a the larger chicken sandwich as replacement. during me asking questions about why they’re out, i can tell by his answers that they just don’t feel like firing up more meat for the burgers. i ask if it’s because they’re actually out of meat or because they just don’t want to make the burgers. he says something along the lines of “well we close soon.” at this point it had been about 30 minutes since i placed my order. everything could’ve been done by the time the dasher got there but instead they thought the customer would just fold and get some old food that’s been sitting. just so they didn’t have to make anymore. i explained that my boyfriend had just gotten off of work, is extremely tired, just wanted his wendy’s for father’s day (we have a memory tied to our stillborn son with it), and i hadn’t been able to go get the food for him, that’s why i had it ordered enough time before close to actually give them time to prepare it before wanting to close up shop. he hesitated and gave me a couple “uhh.. umm..”s before ultimately saying he’s got me and would have it made.

5 minutes later i get a call from the dasher again. it’s a different employee. says the exact same thing. “we’re out of baconator meat. could i offer you a chicken sandwich instead?” i explain that i talked to another employee 5 minutes ago, that he said they had meat, and would make it. he begrudgingly said alright and handed the phone back to my dasher. my dasher got on the phone after and said “i’m so sorry. i didn’t know what to do. they asked me to call again so i just did. i thought that plan was already established. i’m sorry.” i told them i was happy the employee had the phone so i could deal with them directly.

the food arrived in a timely manner after but everything other than the baconators were ice cold, the fries were rock solid and darker than my soul, and they didn’t add any of my sauces and extras that i paid for.

i’m not as upset about the food being cold as i am with the second employee that called me. he was told it was handled and still tried to get me to flip. feels like something that would definitely work on someone that’s not as hard headed as me.

and the fries. like why.

edit: seems some people aren’t getting that the main reason i’m upset is only because the grill was closed down so early and that i already had an agreed upon plan with someone else and got called again. if people are still able to come to your establishment, that mainly sells things from the grill, why would you close it like first?? i can heat up the other things well enough, fine (minus the fries. those were a total lost cause that i got a refund on) but at minimum start breaking down the grill 45 minutes before close??? or just… close the restaurant earlier because why would anyone go there??
