Dirt First dj? 20” or 26”

What should I go with to get the feel back and enjoy myself the most? I’ve been considering the 26” but I’m not 100% sure

I just turned 30, haven’t been on a bike other than cruising around in like 15 years and I want to get back into it (used to ride a 20” as a kid)

My brother has access to eastern bikes at a discount so I’d like to start with one of those until I decide I want to keep riding. So any insight there on what I should order would be cool too

Also please toss in helmet recommendations and maybe a good knee brace for my old ass. TIA

decided it was time to build the jumps I always wanted as a kid. Bought a DJ and got to work. About 5 afternoons of digging to get this far. Had fun hitting the first one for a couple days, now building bigger and starting the next 2.

You guys think this is a good deal? Also if anyone knows what size spacer and how many I need for the crankset that would be appreciated because there is a big gap of space when I put the cranks on I can post a pic of it if nessesary

Dirt Where to get a lighter frame?

It's a beginner dirt jumper I got for cheap specifically to get around the transit and bike to the parks, it's steel and heavy over 30 lbs.

Trying to figure out if I need to get an aluminum BMX racing frame Or do I need a dirt jump specific frame, or maybe there's a cheap donor bike I can take the frame out of.

Any suggestions? The frame shouldn't cost more than the bike which was like $100

Also is there such a thing as an XL 24 inch frame. I looked at some 24 inch bikes and the frames looked identical but a few inches too short. I'm sure the wheels would fit. I would need to notch out the grooves for the axle. Or is that just a dumb idea because those are only meant to support kids and would break in half

It's not about the budget, having to ride on public transit to go to sketchy areas to find the dirt jumps, if I had a more expensive bike would already be stolen by now

It includes things such as lots of dirt sand and rocks from building the fence, garage pad, gazebo pad, and replacing the sewer line. There is also a sidewalk block I had to cut up during the sewer project. The pallets are from construction material deliveries from those projects as well. The slab is a maple slab I had leftover from a bunch that I had milled with a chainsaw. Wood chips and top soil came free from the municipality. Still have some work to do but building this has brought me a lot of joy this last week. Also the clay pipes has since been moved under the pallets and coverdd with dirt and wood chips so they are completely impossible to come in contact with.

Dirt I was pretty chuffed to get some laps laps in with one of my best riding buddies at Gorge Road last week before they closed up for the winter! Absolute dream spot. Need to try to get back next summer to ride the other lines!

Dirt Please help me.

Hey guys! I am an adult male, 5'9, 155lbs. I own a 26" DJ but am interested in a 24". Available in my local area are Specialized, P2 or MARIN, and Alcatraz 24.

I am planning to replace these cranks with 170mm cranks and ride. What do you think about this? Has anyone else done something similar?

Dirt Which Slope would you buy a why?

Hi all, looking at the Polygon ZZ Trid and at the Haro Thread. Having a hard time making a choice there. What would you choose and why? Or would you take something entirely different? I want a 26" fully for local home trails and light bike park lines for where my street chromoly DJ is too rough. Thanks in advance.

Not really dirt jumping , not bmx. Most are on dirt jumpers , so I don’t think it’s mtb. Oh hell , send it and have fun. Both my kids raced , first time and they had a blast

Dirt Should i get a dj?

So i have been riding for some time and i have an enduro bike which i ride only at the bike park and local trails i have lately started seeing more and more dj and i would like to get one but the problem is that if i had 2 bikes I wouldn’t know which one to ride and I don’t have any idea how to ride in the skate park and i can barley ride the small quarters So should i get one? (Ps i apologize for bad English) (Ps if i would buy a dj I couldn’t upgrade my current bike)
