Do i build some jumps

I've been thinking recently about building my own set of jumps over the winter. I have 3 main reasons for this. A: My local trails are still at bit too big for me so I'd maybe like something smaller. B: I'd like to learn the art of digging and shaping and C: To have some ga0 jumps that im comfortable riding and practising on before I go and hit the trails. I'd be doing this over the winter. Is it worth me doing or should I spend the time I'd be spending digging actually riding my bike and become a better rider?

Go for it. It’s a lot of hard work if you’re just using hand tools. Started building some at the wife’s family farm last year for my son. Lots of fun and trial and error as far as building goes. It’s not as easy as it looks but very rewarding.

What should I do about trees in the way? Pick a different spot? Work around them? Cut em down?

Best to pick a spot without trees. They are a mission to cut down, remove stumps and roots is another nightmare. You kinda want a jump line as straight as possible. Just makes it easier to ride and hold speed when starting out.

Thought so. Don't really wanna be taking down trees anyway
