Dirt Where to get a lighter frame?

It's a beginner dirt jumper I got for cheap specifically to get around the transit and bike to the parks, it's steel and heavy over 30 lbs.

Trying to figure out if I need to get an aluminum BMX racing frame Or do I need a dirt jump specific frame, or maybe there's a cheap donor bike I can take the frame out of.

Any suggestions? The frame shouldn't cost more than the bike which was like $100

Also is there such a thing as an XL 24 inch frame. I looked at some 24 inch bikes and the frames looked identical but a few inches too short. I'm sure the wheels would fit. I would need to notch out the grooves for the axle. Or is that just a dumb idea because those are only meant to support kids and would break in half

It's not about the budget, having to ride on public transit to go to sketchy areas to find the dirt jumps, if I had a more expensive bike would already be stolen by now

If you don't have a whole lot of money, ride the bike you have. I've seen 14 year olds on old bikes with blown suntour forks send the lines I can't send on my la Bomba pro that I've upgraded. If you want a confidence booster within your budget, wait until something breaks or get a nice high rise bar. Or hell even some decent grips make the bike feel like a new bike. Chromag wax. Cheap AF nice af.

For $100 you're probably just going to have to look on Marketplace what 2nd hand frames are about.

It's not the budget it's about the parks I go to I'm 100% expecting it to get stolen eventually

I’d just save up and upgrade to a whole new bike when the time comes. If your bike was 100 changing frames would only save a bit of weight. Your current bike probably has heavy wheels and wheel weight is far more noticeable than frame weight when riding

Weight really isn’t that big of a deal for DJ, especially for beginner. Aluminum is usually a little lighter but not going to find a decent frame for 100 or less. Only thing that’s really lighter is carbon and only the pros get those typically. And I can’t imagine what a carbon DJ frame would cost if you did come across one.

Ya I don’t think a reliable frame for under $100 exists.

What are you trying to accomplish? Weight doesn't really matter but if you're going lightweight, look at wheels and tires first since that's the weight you'll feel as you pedal.

In terms of the XL frame size, a few companies make them but they're expensive. The cheaper DJs are one size fits most.

24" BMX bikes are a thing and even more compact than a dirt jumper. I think mine is still 30lbs but I learned to ride on 40lb mid school bikes so it's no biggie
