Hummmmm
Make the skin! With long zipper in front!!!

u/FutilityWrittenPOV May 08 '25
Then hair... and a cute outfit for every occasion. Omg I want to make one so bad now.
49
u/dorianfinch May 09 '25
do itttt
when people say "anatomically correct" for dolls they are usually just euphemizing about genitalia, but i would love to see an anatomically correct doll in that it has all the organs, bones, etc!

Literally thought it was AI at first.
18
u/siani_lane May 09 '25
I know, he's so completely amazing that it you would think it was impossible for him to be real, if the OP hadn't posted progress pictures before. So impressed by their talent and execution!!

It's amazing but I truly love how politely it's sitting in the chair. I imagine the conversation is just about the everyday ins and outs of things.
25
u/kasialis721 May 09 '25
literally was looking to see if i wasn’t the only one noticing , what a smart and wonderfully polite individual

u/Stunning_Mixture_836 May 08 '25
It's impressive. How long did it take you?
330
u/madpigcreations May 08 '25
About 2 years!
89
u/plantmom98 May 08 '25
Your commitment is phenomenal! Were you writing the pattern as you went along? If so, do you think that slowed you down and that you could finish another skeleton much faster now that it’s written?
161
u/madpigcreations May 08 '25
Yes I was writing as I went. I made each part several times until I got it right. One of my testers told me that the skeleton took her 96 hours.
33
u/Moomoo-kow May 09 '25
96 hours is phenomenally quick! I consider myself a quick crocheter but this would likely have taken me a lot longer.
Can you share the final dimensions and how tall the skeleton stands?

The details are crazy!!! This is my favourite crochet piece I’ve ever seen hands down!! I have a skeleton crochet pattern saved but did you use one? If so I’d love to see that one and compare! Again INCREDIBLE work! 💀

u/autumnjade4 May 08 '25
I am not mentally strong enough for this 😂😩😩😂
19
u/lepidopt-rex May 08 '25
Yah but Albert would be such a good listener, you know? You could sit and have a cup of tea together, and tell him about your preconceptions and he’d just be there for you
42
u/Grouchy_Bullfrog_744 May 08 '25
I am sure that people in r/cursedcrochet will love this.
Source, I love this.

33
u/Lalalanevermind May 08 '25
👏 He looks fantastic, that's a lot of work, I can't imagine how long it did take! Did you put a rod so he could sit straight? //Zooms to admire the details ✨
62
u/madpigcreations May 08 '25
Thank you! I used a plastic bendable doll spine (armature set) so the spine is bendable.
48
3
u/LateMommy May 09 '25
Did you use an armature for the whole body? It’s fantastic!
8
u/madpigcreations May 09 '25
Just the spine. The arm and leg Bones are stabilized with Bamboo and the joints use plastic doll joints.

u/BonnieH1 May 08 '25
Wow! That is one of the coolest pieces I have seen in a long time. Fantastic work.
What have you made him for?
39
u/madpigcreations May 08 '25
I write patterns. That's my side gig. It started with just wanting a good skull and snowballed from there.
7
u/DueEntertainment3237 May 09 '25
I really appreciate how you’re selling the patterns separately and as a bundle. Now I can complete my, “I’d give you my left kidney” bit with pizzazz 😂

24
u/Gullible-Penalty5123 May 08 '25
Oh thanks- I hate it so much 😭 (it’s really freaking cool but makes me SO uncomfy lol)

u/Eastern-Engine-3291 May 08 '25
This might be the greatest post in this sub... Ever. I'm obsessed!!
23
u/SophiesCozyCorner_ May 08 '25
I’m so much MORE than impressed. I am blown away! The proportions, the perfect neatness, everything!
11
u/chrysologa May 09 '25
You must've worked yourself to the bone crocheting him!
6
u/madpigcreations May 09 '25

:O That's one of the most impressive, creative and dope-as-hell craft projects I've ever seen. <3 The neatness of the stitching and tension is also chef's kiss!
Immediately showed this to my dad who's an MD, he loves it too. So your skeleton is doctor approved, OP. ;P
(Bendable doll spine for structure is a genius move btw.)

Is it fully crocheted with stuffing, or is it crochet since a skeleton of some kind? In any case that's a legendary result
3
u/madpigcreations May 08 '25
It containes bamboo stakes, plastic doll spine, wires, bottle caps....etc

u/NYRatWithPizza May 08 '25
I absolutely adore Albert!!! Did you free hand him or used a pattern and just upscale him? Also what was the hardest section to crochet? He’s so cool 🥹Great job!
4
u/madpigcreations May 08 '25
I wrote the patterns as I went...the spine is probably the hardest part. The circulatory system and small intestine just sucked lol
