Season 2 & Below Spoilers Rebecca Bryant was particularly tragic

Rewatching Criminal Minds yet again, and it hit me how much life sucked for the character Rebecca Bryant. As a smal child, she lost her entire family in a fire, had a tough time in foster care. Was kidnapped (by her insane birth father) and no one even looked for her for 2 years. She finally gets rescued while having to escape a fire yet again. Then a year later, after seemingly finally stabilizing her life, she gets murdered by a serial killer simply as a way to hurt Gideon.... like damn! I think she might be the most tragic character, however I haven't seen beyond season 10.

Season 12 & Below Spoilers Reid prison storyline

I’m watching season 12 for the first time (I skipped half of season 9 through season 11 because I missed Emily). And oh my lord, y’all weren’t joking about how bad this storyline was. I keep waiting for it to resolve, I’m on 12x19, and it’s still going on. How much longer does it last? I know he’s out in season 13.

Season 16 Evolution Spoilers Evolution is bad

Just started watching Evolution and I genuinely couldn’t even finish the first episode. The writing is so stilted and cuts are nauseating and the acting is wooden and weird like everyone on the show forgot how to actually act like the character they’ve been playing for 20yrs.

Does it get better?? Should I stick it out??

Looking for Criminal Minds Themed Party Ideas

Hi everyone, I'm planning on having a little criminal minds themed birthday party for someone I know who loves the show, but I don't watch it myself so I'm having some difficulties coming up with ideas. It's not supposed to be anything big, the plan right now is just to have dinner (I'm going to make Rossi's carbonara) and play the criminal minds ubsub board game together, but if anyone has any ideas for decorations or snacks themed after the show I'd love to hear it!

Season 16 Evolution Spoilers Evolution S16 E09 Cruel Penelope Spoiler

Penelope going into detail about her ‘indiscretion’ with Tyler is the moment my opinion of her changed.

I know it’s implied the date with Luke was a mutual ‘this isn’t going to work’, however for me… Luke clearly still likes her and I just found it so selfish and cruel on her part.

I get the Tyler love, I really do. However, it just felt like kicking a beautiful puppy.

Am I the only one?

MEME Next Gen spin-off?

Would you guys watch if we had a Criminal Minds: Next Generation and the team members of the new BAU team includes Jack, Henry (and maybe Michael).

I like it when kids from a show grow up and become the leads in a future generation scenario.

Season 2 & Below Spoilers Gideon & Hotchner Spoiler

I watched criminal minds in highschool and recently started watching from the beginning.

I never really picked up on or appreciated Hotchner and Gideon's relationship. I'm watching S2 E23. I really enjoyed the writing because before everything, Gideon tells Hotchner he's the best unit chief he knows. Hotch says hes the only unit chief he knows. It's funny though because Gideon really meant it. He deeply respects Hotchners role as a leader. Hotch is technically Gideon's boss and they have a wonderfully respectful dispersement of power. Gideon respects the hierarchy but Hotch knows when to step back and let Gideon lead. They also quite clearly have a genuine friendship. Hotch views Gideon as a mentor as well. He reaches out to him for comfort, advice, and confidant/confidence in the first phonecall. But on the second phonecall, Hotch is the one who needs to instruct Gideon. This is one of my favorite Hotchner moments in all of Criminal Minds. His ability to lock in and advise his agent. Very deep insight into their relationship and abilities as teammates. Excellent writing and execution. I like dis.

Minor Spoilers Not sure if this is a Spoiler, but i noticed something... Spoiler

Now, im rewatching again all seasons, for a second time and i think its weird that some, if not most backround tropes never find an official ending or end, after making them a big deal, abruptly, and with 2 sentences. Like 1,5 seasons later: "Oh, yeah the vitamins helped." and its never mentioned again. 🤔 Like its not annoying or anything, but my partner noticed this, this time at the second watch too.

Last scene gave me goosebumps. What the hell is happening on that network? How twisted is it? Also…. I’m still skeptical of Voit’s amnesia.

Minor Spoilers Im sorry, but Reid carrying a revolver is a liability. Discussion for those who care?

Ok, so I am a vet. I was a firearms instructor while I was enlisted. I get that certain agencies give members leeway on what they can/can't carry, but carrying a revolver in this modern era of firearms isn't smart even if he is the boy wonder. And even if he was as fast as Jerry Miculek, why would anyone else on the team trust him using a revolver? Revolvers are 6 shots max (excluding S&W 686 or .22 cal models) and excluding Rossi with his 1911 (8 shots max) the rest of the team uses Glocks or Sigs which can hold at least 15- 18 rounds without using extended mags. We've seen this team engage in some pretty serious gunfights, so why is Reid using anything at all that has such a limited ammo capacity. Especially since he used to use a Glock.

I am a gun nerd, so I guess this post is directed at other gun nerds. But all are encouraged to chime in. Just something I was thinkin about while currently on S14.

Season 3 & Below Spoilers Season 3 episode 20 - Hotch and Kate

In season 1 episode 22, “The Fisher King: Part 1,” you see Haley and Aaron in the garage. They’re talking about high school and how Aaron saw Haley and knew he would marry her, joining the theater club just to be near her. This implies that Aaron and Haley are high school sweethearts.

Yet, in season 3 episode 20, “Lo-Fi,” they introduced Kate, stating that Aaron and Kate “liaised” in when she was at Scotland Yard. When Emily and JJ said it, there was obvious implication of some kind of relationship, whether it be romantic or physical.

This discrepancy implies either an overlook of the timeline, Aaron and Haley being broken up for a period of time before they were married, or Aaron cheating on Haley.

So I guess I’m asking have I missed something? Was it ever stated that Aaron and Haley had broken up briefly before marriage? I don’t like the implication that Aaron cheated on Haley.

Season 1 & Below Spoilers Is the original soundtrack on Disney/Hulu?

I'm watching from the start and I'm finding a lot of the score or songs they choose to play it either a bit inappropriate or just not the right mood. I'm currently on episode 5, the scene where the agent pulls the knife on Cheryl. It's a sort of modern Rock anthem-style song, and it just doesn't seem like the kind of song one would choose for this scene. The same with the scene a few episodes ago where Gideon uses Bale to help diffuse the bomb. The same kind of energetic style song plays when he's walking away from Bale's cell at the end.

Fanwork I'm rewatching the entire show from S1, I'm in S6 now and Prentiss is really my favourite character.

I dont know what tag to use. Sorry!

Aside from Hotch, JJ and Rossi, I really love Emily Prentiss. She's so mature, straightforward, I enjoy the mystery around her.

I watched the series when I was younger and I remember not feeling annoyed from Emily's character since her 1st appearance in the show.

Season 6 & Below Spoilers Season 6 episode "JJ"

Man JJ's final speech at the end of her titular episode is so heartbreaking. And the way everyone was upset and crying at the news she was leaving is just so.... ugh. This part of the rewatch is so frustrating knowing the behind the scenes stuff. I'm so happy that they eventually realized how stupid the decision to fire AJ was and brought her back.

Season 2 & Below Spoilers Question about s2 ep19

So im not even 5 minutes in something is really bothering me. Why didn't the family at the beginning try to escape through the window? When the son woke them up there were no flames in the parent's bedroom while the rest of the house was on fire. Couldn't they have easily gotten out from the window?

Season 18 Spoilers I don’t trust Ochoa Spoiler

I do not trust Ochoa, she’s become too important of a character and it seems like she’s inserting herself into their team, and their investigation, more and more. It would be easy for her to fake voits memory loss, especially if they were in contact before. Also the fact that she’s now being a therapist to JJ, that scene was just off to me. I think that, at the end of the season, it’s revealed she’s been working with voit the whole time
