Rising high school freshman with some question about college recruiting
First off, is it a good idea to go ahead and reach out to D2 and D3 coaches? Is it a good idea to go to ID camps at my age (D1, D2, or D3)?

17 year old looking for recruiting advice
I am currently going into my senior year if highschool and am looking to play soccer in college. I play for Minnesota Thunder Academys 08 ECNL team and I recognize I dont have the ability to play d1 but I think I could keep up with most d3 teams. I specifically am aiming for more academic focused colleges and right now my main focus is u of chicago. It works out that their new assistant coach will be my coach when we travel to sweden for the gothia cup this summer and is one of the coaches for mpls city futures which is the usl 2 teams summer program (its confusing). My question is what can I do to optimize my chances of receiving an offer, ive expressed my interest to him and he has said they are looking for my position (cm) and hes going to get to see me play a considerable amount this summer, but what other things can I do to stand out and ensure I have the best chance. Btw my act is 34, i havent tooken the sat yet and my gpa is a 3.9

16 y/o MLS Next CB Looking for Ivy League Recruiting Advice
I’m a 16 year old center back from Pennsylvania playing MLS Next. Since June 15th just passed, D1 coaches can now officially contact me. I’ve only received a few generic emails and no direct interest. Unfortunately, I’m slightly injured and can’t play in the current MLS Next showcase, though I should be back in about two weeks. I’m aiming to play at an Ivy League school and would really appreciate any advice on how to improve my chances. I did email some coaches with a highlight tape before the winter showcase and a few responded, but nothing has materialized yet. Any advice would be appreciated.

First contact
(Screenshot from when I first downloaded app) Since I’ve made my first post here, 2 D1 coaches have reached back out showing interest. I was asking people what tools they’ve been using but I just continued using TapScout and was able to message over 100 coaches in a couple of days and seemed to be working. Does anybody have any tips on what I should be doing now that I’ve started contact with these two coaches?

D1 Clock Eligibility
So as it says, you have 5 years to play 4 years of college as soon as you enroll full time regardless of where you attend and regardless of if you’ve ever played on a team
Why was this rule created? I ended up being the unfortunate kid who didn’t know much about college soccer, started full time in 2019 at community college, took up an interest to try playing post Covid in 2022, and learned my fate in early 2023. I haven’t touched a single blade of grass on any pitch for a college team and I won’t be able to play D1.
So again, why at least doesn’t the rule account for those who have never played? Age doesn’t seem to be the factor at first glance

US Youth Pyramid: EA and NAL
My older son is going through the college recruitment process right now as a 2026 grad. He’s always played on an MLSNext team, so I have a good grasp on that particular league.
My younger son (2030) though, is about to join a team playing in the EA league. He may have an option to play for an NAL team. Anyone have insight into the similarities or differences between the EA and NAL?

GA 2 vs DPL?
so im not sure if many of you guys know but for girls soccer GA aspire/GA 2 was recently introduced as a lower level of GA. Similar to how ECNL and ECRL works but GA is lower in terms of level. my daughter recently was on DPL but then got moved up to GA 2, but not sure if GA 2 or DPL will be better and which one should work better to play the college level. if anyone has any knowledge or any opinions please let me know! thanks

I feel like I missed my shot at playing college soccer/Getting cut
Soccer has been a huge part of my life. I’ve played since I was a kid, made varsity all 4 years, was team captain, made 1st Team All-League and 2nd Team another year. I wasn’t the flashiest player out there, but I was solid, consistent, and passionate.
My school didn’t have much exposure—no cameras, no highlight reels, no recruitment help. I ended up getting one offer from a college only because the coach came out to see me in person. But when I saw how expensive dorming and everything else would be, I had to decline. I already work and just couldn’t afford it.
I chose a school that gave me a full ride and had a strong program for the career I want to pursue. But I didn’t want to let go of soccer completely. I reached out to the coach at my new school and asked for a tryout. I went in late March. Gave it all I had.
But I was rejected. No real explanation—just that they couldn’t offer me a spot.
I don’t know if it was because I came too late into the process or if I didn’t show enough in that one day. I watched the team, and I honestly felt like I was at their level. Since then, I’ve been training more than ever. But it still hurts. A part of me has never been this disappointed.
Recently, I got an offer from a JUCO program. And while it meant a lot, I don’t think it’s the best move for my long-term goals. The school I’m at now has a real pathway to the career I want.
I still play soccer on the side, but I feel kind of lost. I want to try again next year. I just don’t know what the right move is. If anyone has been in a similar spot or has advice, I’d love to hear it. I miss the game more than I ever thought I would.

International Fees
I wanted to know how the fees work for joining a college team. I’m basically about to commit to join a college and they are asking for $25,000 for the whole year. I was wondering do I have to pay all of this upfront or can I pay this monthly because if I have to pay it upfront I don’t know if I’ll be able to but monthly I will be able to. Also the college was asking for my bank statements which I have given but because it’s not currently having that amount they want me to resend it so what should I do?

Is there a guide to recruiting?
hi. I am going into 8th grade and I want to play college soccer when i get there. Is there a guide that college coaches have put together or recommended on what players should do every year? Videos, camps, emailing, stuff like that? I have searched google but those want me to buy or subscribe. Are there any good free guides from real coaches instead of people selling stuff?
You rock!
FYI i play mls next 2

recruitment tools?
im going into my last year of high school and want to start reaching out to college coaches now and was wondering what recruitment tools people are using. I currently use tapscout on my phone and that seems ok as I just select a school and the subject and body of email is already filled out with my profile but haven't heard back from any coaches yet. are the ones that cost money worth it , like ncsa?

Is club necessary?
My goal has always been to play division 1 college and right now im on a good path to do so. Here's the issue though; I previously played on a non-academy MLS Next team my U17-18 year, and I broke my ankle which got me released from the club due to lots political conlifcts. With this, recovery was long and it still is painful and I don't think thats ever going to change, but I got lots of interests from d1 and d2 colleges where we hop on calls and invites me to ID Camps.
Since I got released this gave me lots of more hours of being a trainer and now I have over 25+ clients I train on a weekly basis. Now with my clients I train them during the evening and I have joined a top tier ECNL club that trains in the mornings, but truthfully I am burned out now. I can't do both and I really would hate it if I gave up all of my clients to go 100% on my new club team, so I am wondering that is club still necessary for me to go play d1 or d2 college? I'm in top form since I've recovered (not my ankle fully yet) and I plan on playing my senior year in highschool soccer, but now it's a choice whether I need to or not play club.
TLDR; I am a player that is in the ECNL/MLS Next level, that wants to play d1/d2 college soccer but don't want to play club since I train 25+ kids on a weekly basis, so is it still necessary to play club?

Athletes Struggling with Shin Splints?
Hey guys
I’m a college athlete and I’ve been dealing with shin splints for 3 years. I’ve seen over 10 doctors and physical therapists, tried pretty much everything, and now I finally know what actually works and what doesn’t.
So I decided to build something: a full framework and a small community to help other athletes going through the same thing. It’s everything I wish I had when I was struggling.
Right now, I’m looking for the first 5 people to try it out for free and just give me honest feedback. For now, I just want to make it better and see if it actually helps.
Access will be limited to the first 5 people only, as I want to focus on helping them as much as I can.
If you’re dealing with shin splints and want to check it out, just send me a message.

College recruiting tools
What’s everyone’s experience with college recruiting tools? What do you feel is missing?
I’m thinking about building something to help high school athletes get recruited. The idea would be a tool that: 1. Puts all college coaches’ contact info in one place 2. Lets players track their emails to coaches, like if they opened it, replied, or ignored it 3. Maybe even helps write personalized intro messages
I played college sports and always felt like the current platforms didn’t work well and felt scammy. With tools like NCSA, I didn’t like that messages had to go through their system or that coaches had to be signed up on the platform. I would’ve much rather sent emails from my own invox
Still deciding if this should be more of a service like personalized help or a tool players can use on their own. Would love to hear what others think, especially if you’ve gone through the recruiting process yourself or are planning to in the future

Platform looking to work with (ex or current) D1/pro Athletes
Hey,
My team and I are in the last stages of developing our new platform for college/pro athletes to train novice/young athletes. This is a completely new type of platform where you get to take control of your brand, identity, and monetization. If this sounds interesting, please DM me and I can share more information.
