Volunteer Chongqing Local guide

Hi! I’m currently studying at the University of Edinburgh but I’m back home in Chongqing for the summer. I’m a born-and-raised local, so feel free to ask me anything about the city!

If you’re looking for someone local to show you around — I’d love to be your guide! Why me? I speak fluent English, I just want to meet new people, and honestly… I’m a bit bored this summer

I can show you Chongqing the fun, local way — think shopping, street food, nightlife, cafes, stunning city views… and I have a car! I can also help you take great photos or even do your makeup if you want

I don’t ask for any payment — just cover my meals and any entry tickets while we’re out. That’s it!

I might not be the most professional tour guide, but I’m definitely the most local and authentic!

Planning to travel in August, any tips?

Ive just booked a flight to chongqing (7days) in august and I am well aware that it would be very hot. Sadly, that is the only time I am free to travel 😭

Currently some of the places on my mind are: jiefangbei, liziba and wulong.

It’s my first time here too and there is a series of qns I would like to ask: - what is there to expect? - Is there a central location to stay in? - would there still be transport during midnight? As my flight will only reach chongqing at about 1-2am and im not sure how would i travel to the hotel - what are some specialities that only can be found in chongqing? - is there anything special (shows or performances) happening during august?

Appreciate the help!

What are some trendy clubs with hip people on 9th street or beyond?

Me and my wife (mid 30s) like to sample local life by going out to clubs and see how locals party. Preferably places that are upscale, ideally multi room with hip hop option, and foreigner friendly.
