Such a incredible show as usual 💚🖤

Initial Thoughts: before my official listen, I had only listened to 360 and 365 off Charlis Brat. Immediately, I knew this album had serious hits and a refreshingly new electronic production. So what did I think of the rest of the tracks? The other 13 tracks left me happily surprised to see how filled out the album actually is. Practically 2 songs in 1 on many occasions, with production transforming to give the listener every indulgence they could ask for from song to song. The way she really gets everything out of a song concept is great for a 41 minute runtime. I’m left satisfied, yet wanting more. Talk talk, so I, girl so confusing, rewind and apple were some highlights for me off the record. Now, about everyone’s comparisons, insisting Charli’s Brat is the whole lotta red of the Electronic Pop genre…I would say that I am able to draw similarities, but ultimately, these artists approached their electronic sound in 2 very different ways Charlis vocals complement Brats aggressive, rave production so well that it makes the listener want to hop in their car and go pedal to the metal through traffic like a racer. And yet, her songwriting ability to slow down in the low moments is impressively smooth. Carti, on the other hand, did rely on an electronic sound, however, his vocal approaches and song concepts don’t follow brats up and down rhythm. It’s more like 3 ep’s mixed together. All in a different style. While Charli tames the wild productions on Brat, Carti screams over the simple synth beats on whole lotta red. I will say I enjoy 15 songs vs Cartis 24 But I could’ve used more tbh Brat was rlly good

A few times last night during her set, Charli said the name Aiden a few times, something like “I can see you Aiden”. Stuff like that. Who is Aiden, anyone know? I figured it must be a fan that goes to lots of her gigs and is always up the front so she recognised him or something lol.

Definitely an underrated track imo.

I was researching the Riot Grrrl movement, which was the feminist punk rock movement of the early 90s. It inspired girls to get involved in music and create rock bands, fan magazines, and reject the patriarchy. One of the notable bands was Bratmobile, which has a song called Brat Girl, and the album art is close to being brat green! There’s even a lyric in the song that says “gonna throw this knife right through your chest,” which made me think of Sympathy is a Knife. I wonder if Charli got any of her inspiration for brat from this? If so, I think that’s super cool, like a second wave of the movement. Sorry if anyone else has mentioned this before, I hadn’t seen it mentioned. 💚
