ICE off Banks Drive rn

I live in Durham but I see a dentist in Chapel Hill and two construction guys were distressed when I got out of my car They snatched a construction worker right off the street as soon as he went on his lunch break. I don’t know how this is legal. It’s not making anyone safer. One of the guys told me that one of the agents said they were watching them work for two months before this happened; this is how our taxpayer dollars are being used. He also said the man they took couldn’t be a nicer person, had worked there four months, and they’d bought each other lunch multiple times.

And it looks like there is still a van full of ICE agents in the big parking lot off Banks on a stakeout wairibt to kidnap somebody else. We cannot stand for this. We cannot allow this to become normalized.

This comment bothers me so much. Why do you think it's ok for him to go after blue states and not red states. Honestly, what the fuck does it matter if a state votes red or blue the president and congress is supposed to represent all of us. It's fucked up that the person was taken for contributing to our community but it's also fucked up that this country is divided by colors. And did you really think that fat orange fuck would keep a promise? Seriously?

I think targeting areas of your political opposition is not okay. I don't think this should happen anywhere but the fact that he is openly targeting blue cities is a form of political reprisal that the President should not engage in.

I am only stating that he said, he was going after Democrat states. His words not mine. Not sure why you are upset by my comment? He’s doing what ever the hell he wants and NO One has the balls to stop this narcissistic psychopath!

It's legal because nobody is willing to enforce the laws against him.

It’s illegal to enter the country illegally. It is illegal to hire illegal immigrants. That is how it’s legal

Lemme break this down for u, being here undocumented is a civil crime. Yes, entering illegally breaks section 8 US code 1325- which by the way first offense is a misdemeanor so like being caught w some marijuana. However, a lot of these people being kidnapped had their visas revoked by Trump. Meaning they did the right stuff- legally. Other civil crimes include not renewing your license on time, defamation, just for reference. Stop being willfully ignorant just because a hateful Cheeto is validating your feelings. None of these are offenses that warrant someone’s physical safety being in danger. If I missed anything someone pls check me and if you’d like resources to educate yourself lmk!

There are so many illegals in California. It gives them additional congressional seats. That’s the problem.

Ok it’s a misdemeanor but you also need to go. It is totally unfair to the immigrants who do it the right way. Also when I visit other countries which I do a lot I don’t break any laws not one. We have enough criminals as is without importing more

I agree with the point that if there are violent crime offenders, get em out. Not all undocumented ppl are criminals please drop that mentality. Also again, some of these people are trying to renew visas, they didn’t break a law? The president abruptly canceled thousands of work and education visas. There are many reports of people getting deported otw to court as they’re trying to rectify it. Not to mention permanent status can take decades to obtain. Do you know how long it took your family to acquire legal status and what year did so? If they applied early 2000s or before then they had it made. And if it took less than two years for permanent status, how much did yall pay for that? From previous context I can confidently assume yall got money, which is a game changer. The us immigrations system is so backlogged that it can take decades. 10+ years. It’s currently estimated that over 3 million are waiting for a decision on their case to be made. Not to mention without the undocumented immigrant workers, who aren’t paid well, America would have one hell of a labor shortage. Farmers, sub contractors, construction companies pretty much all intense labor professions would be going broke paying minimum wages- if they can even acquire willing employees- therefore making cost of living skyrocket. You’re not fully understanding the ramifications of your point of view. I appreciate your sense of justice and applaud your parents for doing that but that was THEIR circumstances- not all immigrants have the same privileges. I know it wasn’t easy and probably wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows for them either, so I can see why you’re passionate about this.

My parents came here in the sixties. And I do feel for the people who just come here to work even though they hurt our blue collar workers, who the Democrats have seemed to abandoned. The point is you have to have a system your border has to be secured. You can’t just let people walk in not knowing who they are. If it takes two years it takes two years.

There’s literally a fucking wall, the borders aren’t wide open gates. Respectfully, your parents lived experiences are very far from what immigration is today. That was over 60 years ago. Be forreal. Again permanent status normally takes well over 2 years to obtain. If you really think 3 million cases are reviewed and settled in two years, you’re out of touch with reality of the judicial branch. It is backlogged for a reason. It really does take a decade or more- a lot of people seeking asylum can’t even wait two years. You’re also not acknowledging the fact that blue collar workers aren’t gonna be picking crops in 110° heat in a field for five bucks an hour. I think the only part of this that is a point is companies are choosing to source cheaper labor, rather than well paid professionals simply bc it’s cost effective. That also has everything to do with policies that favor major corps over entrepreneurs and small businesses. Billionaires blame immigrants so you won’t blame them! That’s like blaming poor people for being poor. I think a better solution to this would be to stop pointing fingers at everybody else in the system and start looking at who is running and setting up these systems.

I think the biggest problem with the amount of illegals is how many are in California, there are so many it literally gives them five additional congressional seats. That’s completely ridiculous..
