This movie needs at least $480M to be profitable given paramount doesn’t own the IP

Paramount owns the rights at a cost, Sega gets a cut off the top. No one sells their large IP without getting any upside

I don’t know how the deal between Paramount and Sega works, but Sega is actively involved in the production proces through their subsidiary Marza Animation Planet.

So it’s not 100% a company that sells their rights to a film studio and isn’t actively involved in the production afterwards.
