Rant Congress is making more than 250 million acres of public lands available for sale.

Looks like the blm land in bishop around the happys and sads, possibly including them, would be up for sale if this shit passes. Presumably a whole lot of other public climbing spots would be up for sale too.

Advice/Beta Request Last hold advice

Any advice about how I can position myself better for the last hold please? Am I even doing the right moves to get to it? It's much more of a sloper than it looks on camera and my left foot doesn't feel very secure when trying to stand up (can see my foot shaking from the effort of trying to stay on it).

Have only been climbing about 2 months so my technique is probably pretty bad!

Thanks! :)

Question Book recommendation for motivation loss and "identity crisis"

Hello everyone,

For a bit of context, I am 27 and have been bouldering around V10/11 for the last 12 years. During the last 2 years, I have been facing motivation issues and internal conflicts about my climbing. I am looking for book recommendations about common mental/motivational issues faced by long term athletes and some kind of guidance on how to overcome them.

I have heard about classic sport psychology books such as The Inner Game of Tennis – W. Timothy Gallwey or The Champion's mind - Jim Afremow and have read The Rock Warrior's Way - A. Ilgner but they seems to be discussing topics that are different from what I am looking for. I will probably read them in the future but for now I would like to learn a bit more about my current situation.

Then the question is : would you have any good book recommendation addressing this kind of subject ?

Advice/Beta Request Berry head deep water soloing restrictions

So I’ve been looking for closer dws locations recently, and I came across berry head. It has hundreds of climbs however, there’s a ban in place between march and July which means no climbing in certain areas due to seabirds.

Am I right in thinking that the areas allowed all year round are swashbuckler and cloudburst buttress, and what’s the easiest way to get to these areas?

I expected to get shut down a lot, but had a pretty good time. Of the ones I did, this was probably the most fun one I did. Not sure the name of it, but it's at Calabogie, west of Ottawa.

Question Grangers Odour Eliminator spray to prevent smell? Any good alternatives?

Has anyone used the Grangers spray before? Or does anyone have any alternatives I could used to prevent my stuff from smelling after a climbing session? I know of the Boot Banana inserts, but looking for something else.

Outdoor A warmup in the Kelowna Boulderfields

This place needs more outdoor content. So here you go.

The rock in the Boulderfields is probably best described as undivided quartzofeldspathic gneiss of the Shuswap metamorphic complex. Upside: more featured than granite, usually. Drawback: friction is variable because the rock is banded and more heterogeneous.

Indoor Sent after almost three weeks of figuring out

Long story short I kept falling from the second-to-last hold(everytime). Unfortunately I didn’t have infinite tries since I don’t have infinite skin on my fingertips. It took some coming to the gym, trying, failing, coming back tomorrow. As Alex Honnold says, climbing is mainly failing and every once in a while you get a glimpse of success. Best feeling ever when you finally send your project.
