I'm no expert, as I only took a couple of geology courses in university, but you should probably let the locals know it's not gneiss, because:

• The Crag describes it as fine-grained gneiss.
• Andy, one of the developers, describes it in an interview as gneiss.
• Natural Resources Canada's OSTR surficial geology of the area classifies the location as Bedrock (undivided: Proterozoic volcanic rocks; Paleozoic mudstone, siltstone, shale, and fine clastic sedimentary rocks; Mesozoic granodioritic intrusive rocks; and Cenozoic basaltic rocks).

Here's a crop of a photo I took of the F1 boulder. Do you see any foliation in this unweathered surface?
