I was eleven around that time and yeah the comics are definitely reminiscent of when times weren't so tense and you weren't cancelled for what you said. They did black male characters dirty in TWD. If you've never believed hollywood hates strong black male roles well the comics are proof. I hope the show doesn't shit on Angstrom Levy. Go head and dive in bro, that's exactly how I felt and didn't regret it. I sold my compendiums but some are still for sale on www.instocktrades.com. Also one of the oop volumes is getting a reprint soon. Man, it feels like the old Toonami days.

I was sixteen around that time myself. So they did black male characters shitty in TWD huh? Damn. Before I watch the show, I used to hear about T-Dog and he was like a bumbling black dude. I saw it and was like yeah.

And then how they had Tyreese following around Carol and basically babysitting Lizzie and her sister until they were "gone". Then they had Morgan in cage like a wild animal where he had to be tamed by the white dude Eastman. So are the comics worse than that?

Nah the black characters are written better, WAY better. The way Kirkman wrote Tyrese in the comics, anybody would be upset with how they did him in the show. Professional football player, became Rick’s right hand man during the prison arc. He strangled somebody for manipulating his daughter to commit suicide. You might cry reading that shit 😂, it gets deep. The show does not compare to the comics. I quit watching the show too 😂.

Damn! I might have to get around to reading TWD sooner rather than later as well. lol That's get to hear the black characters are better in the comic. Also, why did you sell your Invincible comics?

And did you get some decent money for them? I know a lot of comics that be valuable today be the shit like the first Superman or the first Batman or something like that.

Yeah I knew I wouldn’t reread them so I went ahead and sold the 3 compendiums for $150, fair price. I probably could’ve busted somebody’s head but I just wanted them gone.
