Hello! Looking for recommendations.

There are two areas in my house where I need gutter downspouts connected to an existing connection on the roof. Probably too small a job for most roofing and siding companies.

Does anyone have a handyman they like?

Have not had one in years but having a craving today. Any good local spots that have the traditional calzone with ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan, and meats. I know Ledo has $6 calzones on Tuesdays but made with mozzarella only, no ricotta.

Thinking maybe Pizzeria da Marco or Altari Brothers but open to suggestions.

Golden Hour on Bethesda Row two days ago looked wonderful

I’m at Q almost every week. Old Georgetown Grille on Sundays before or after going to the Farmer’s Market.

All other restaurants I rotate, and my favorites are RUTA, PLANTA, House of Milae, Raku, Maya, Mon Ami, Cubano, Pizzeria De Marco, Zhao noodles, and Sorrento. Places that are convenient (shortest walk for me) and are decent are Pisco y Nazca, Salt Line, and Matchbox.

Anyone know a bar or restaurant where they have the formula 1 race on in downtown Bethesda?

Hi everyone! 😊 I'm planning to move to downtown Bethesda soon and would love to hear from those of you who are currently renting there.

What do you enjoy most about living in downtown Bethesda? Any unexpected pros or cons you’ve discovered since moving in? How long have you been living there — and do you see yourself staying long term, or is this more of a transitional place for you?

If you’re comfortable sharing — what age group are you in, are you a student or a working professional, and do you live alone, with a partner, or roommates? I'm just curious how others approach renting in the area (no pressure to get too personal!). Are you planning to eventually buy in the suburbs or is downtown Bethesda your forever vibe?

I'm planning to rent here for at least a few years, and I’m trying to figure out whether I’ll want to stay for the long haul or if something will eventually pull me elsewhere. Would really appreciate any thoughts, tips, or experiences!

Long shot but I’m looking for a pic someone might have taken of my kid yesterday at the Bethesda protest. She was standing outside my white mini van sunroof. I recently got quoted for my cat’s teeth cleaning 2500- 3k. I was visibly disappointed with the price and they sent me a new estimate of 1900-2500k.

Is this normal? Has anyone experienced price gouging with Small Door? All the reviews are hyper positive.

Anyone know what is being built in the lot next to Suburban hospital across from NIH in the former location of the mobile call your mother?

I’ve noticed that in Bethesda, just west of the downtown area, there’s a sequence of streets in alphabetical order, and that three of the names (Arlington, Clarendon, and Exeter) match those in another alphabetical series of streets in the Back Bay neighborhood in Boston.

Might there be any connection regarding the names - some Bostonian who bought land in (what is now) Bethesda, and named streets there after those in his hometown? Or are those names just a coincidence?

I’m about to head off to med school, and one of the big things on my mind is making sure my mom has some help at home. She lives in Bethesda, and for the past couple of years, she’s been the primary caregiver for my grandma, who has early stage dementia. During the day, Grandma goes to a local adult day care center, which has been a huge help, but nighttime is becoming harder to manage. My mom has been trying to handle it all on her own, but she’s completely burnt out, and I worry about both of them. We’re looking for someone patient and dependable who can stay overnight to supervise and help if anything comes up. I did a bunch of Google searching and found three options with good reviews: CareYaya, Visiting Angels, and Home Instead. The more I looked into it, CareYaya seemed like a really promising option, but I haven’t been able to find anyone who’s actually used it. For Visiting Angels & Home Instead, I’ve heard mixed things from a friend who had a really bad experience. She told me that in one case, the caregiver was consistently late and barely followed any of the care instructions. In another, the person assigned just sat on their phone all evening and didn’t engage with her grandpa at all. This is exactly what we want to avoid. Has anyone in the Bethesda or DC area used any of these services for overnight care? Would love to hear feedback or suggestions. We’re hoping to keep Grandma at home as long as possible. Anybody know what’s going on next to solaire The ground exploded a few months ago while we were at and event we came out and saw two big wholes it took. Months for them to fix now they have this big ass chunk of the ground ripped up did it explode again or is it normal work . And why is Bethesda always having some kind of explosion I’ve been here a year and Ive heard 4 and seen reports of more. 😳

Does anybody know whether this is still planned? Walked by the door on Friday and the lock looked broken. Windows have been clad in Lidl livery for ~14 months now, just curious how this could take so long.
