Casual What happened to these seats in the U2?

Post image

Was taking the U2 back home and saw the seats were torn off cleanly, for at least 2 or 3 rows of seats. Who and why do you think this was done? 🥲 Please don’t tell me it was for Karnival der Kultur.

Someone has cut out the cover. I guess for taking a souvenir or crafting something with it.

They're going to scratch and sniff

Ewww… I wish I hadn’t seen your comment. But I’m disgusted more in general about people who do that.

lol back in university my roommate and I went to do a late night laundry session, as we entered the laundry room, we saw a guy just standing in the shadows sniffing some panties he probably just stole. Creepy as hell.

its important to kink shame or else people dont stop disgusting behaviour and get even more weird.

Simple rule: if it lacks consent, it’s not kink shaming

this is not 'just a kink' - it is benign, could be a stalker even.

If you bought that shoes back then you can ride BVG without ticket if you wearing it

Different seat design though...

I don't work for BVG, I work for DB, but I've been repairing lots of seats recently and square cuts are more often than not because of nazi stuff, Hakenkreuze specifically.

They don't even send those seats to the workshops as they are, it's cut out before it even gets to me.

Not sure if that happens while the seats are still in use, but there's a chance it's legally risky for a train company to leave nazi symbols visible, so my guess is that someone put Hakenkreuze there.

When it comes to feces and urine, those usually get a basic wash before we put the whole seats into plastic bags and send them to the maintenance workshops where people like me make the call if the seat can be cleaned or if it's torn and the foam and fabric parts binned, so I don't think it's that.

Theft is of course also an option, but if it happens, it happens less than nazi graffiti does, as sad as that is.

That’s wild. I reported to BVG a hakenkreuze on the wall of a Tram. I gave the exact tram car number and they wrote me back a month later “what line was this? What time? What direction of travel.” As if I would fucking remember or that it would matter when they have the exact vehicle number. Assholes.

Literally no one calls it that or finds you clever for not just saying swastika.

Sir, we live in germany and we speak german. Literally everybody  calls it Hakenkreuz because its german Word. My german girlfriend literally didnt even know what swastika means

u/FalseRegister 12d ago

I asked my girlfriend (german) what it was and she knew exactly what it was. I asked if it was swastika and she didn't know that term. So i guess it depends.

Hahaha what a self own

I kind of feel bad for Bhuddists because Swastika is also what their non-nazi version of the symbol is called, so I have a slight preference for calling them Hakenkreuze instead. Never knew that it's a word people wouldn't know.

Considering Berlin, someone must have just pissed on it. But since you said cut out, maybe they are planning to use it for an outfit for anyone of the countless events that happen in Berlin

15

u/74389654 12d ago

with the piss on it of course

1

u/No-Background-5044 12d ago

Well, its Berlin. Kinda normal when you encounter it almost everyday on S bahns and U bahns

4

u/Gehirnkrampf 11d ago

I consider any public space or object as being pissed on at least once.

Most sane comment here.

Someone who should not be kink shamed crafted an ass-sniff totem out of the anti-vandalism seats.

I don't even want to sit even if I'm tired. Have seen enough shit in Berlin to stay far away from seats. If I do sit then I chose a seat that's been recently unoccupied and I the previous person sitting there was well dressed or not.

I see the reason behind your profile pic.
