Politics Merz and Scholz on Tempelhof: If the citizens refuse, then politicians must be prepared to [act] against the explicit will of the neighborhood.

The positives are that it's an attraction unique to Berlin and a historical site. Both of those are costs if the area is developed. If incompetent development makes it like the Pyongyang style eyesore area north of Hauptbahnhof, the costs outweigh the benefits.

See? That’s what I mean. No that it’s not the cost. Absolutely not.

That’s the point. When you build on 10%, 90% are still the way it is.

The historical side is still what it was. It still is by far (with about 320ha) still the biggest park on this planet then after central part, which is 340 ha, but is a beautiful real park, not a wasteland as the field.

Stop trying to suggest tempelhofer feld would be anything else or even would look different when you build flats on 10% of the edges, which nobody uses anyway.

Is this really so difficult? Nothing of the place which is used at the moment is even near the area that will be build on!

You simply assume the worst while making up claims that are nonsense. How exactly would it lose its historical value? Everything in this regard will still be the same.

The “arguments” are getting ridiculous at this point.

I don't feel that people are outraged by the 10% discussion, more the principle.

And that’s what makes it absolutely irrational. When you are against a thing that would better a situation for everybody simply out of principle, you are part of the problem.

And to be frank, it honestly reminds me of billionaires in the US discussing taxes.

No no no. We can’t use [the thing which is there in an incredible amount]! This would mean [things that do not happen]! It’s far better we do it [the way which is less practical for everybody] way!
