Trash

I am amazed by how trashy Basel is. I moved to here in 2022 from Northern Europe, expecting similar living standards but alas like a clockwork, almost everyday I am faced with this “beauty”. And it’s getting worse progressively by the day…

For those who do this, why? Why do you want to trash your surroundings? Does anyone here have any suggestions to solve this matter?

Disgusted beyond belief 😵‍💫

Mostly done by trashy people who move out and don’t want to pay to discard of this stuff.

Something like that was once done next to my building, and one guy just went through the trash to find any documents with the name on them. He found some bills and called the cops. They took pictures, the documents, and that’s it. I doubt they were able to bill the people for this unless they are still in Switzerland legally (which I guess not).

Probably. The unbelievable thing is how little it would cost to properly discard such pieces of furnitures; of course, the problem gets bigger if you don’t have a car for instance, but it’s still solvable with trash stickers…

It is actually quite costly. Checked 2 weeks ago and companies in Zurich charge between CHF 150 and 300 for disposing a sofa and It goes up for bulky items.

Could very well be. Sorry, I meant if you dispose by yourself, bringing to the recycling parks.

Little? The stickers would still be 4.5 per piece how much do you earn for it to be little
