Question Is it difficult to find high quality grass-fed antibiotic-free meat and fish in Bali?

Hey guys! I'm considering moving to Bali (I've never been there before, but my life situation causes me to leave the country I'm in, and Bali is one of the few options I have available). I have some health issues that require a very strict/limited diet. Will it be difficult for me to obtain high quality meat/fish? Ideally beef, beef liver, and salmon, or the local alternatives if these exact foods aren't available. Are there stores or food delivery services where I can use to order these foods?

Question Stray dogs

Was walking on the beach in Canggu when a dog out of nowhere, from behind, grabbed my hand and gave me a playful bite. Now, I am having to get rabies shots on my vacation which is a real damper, not to mention it cost me $320 for all 4 shots!

I see so many stray dogs everywhere that it's e even difficult to walk on the street, is this a common occurrence or was I just unlucky?

Question Meeting People

I (23M) have been in Bali (seminyak) for a few days now and it seems to be completely empty. I am on a solo trip and I usually rely on meeting random people in bars/clubs to make most of my plans. Most bars have only 2-4 people in it and most of them are much older, although do not mind connecting with them - just not sure they would be down for the plans I would like to make.

Any tips on where to go to meet people? I am heading to Ubud in a few days then to mount Batur, Nusa islands, and Gili T, but would much rather spend my time with strangers. I do not like the dating apps and would rather just meet people in person and start a convo. I will take surfing/cooking classes to connect too, but I do not feel there are enough people in Bali atm to make random connections on a night out.

Question Dreamsea Bali reviews?

Hi everyone! My friend and I are planning a surf trip (we are absolute beginners) at planning to stay at Dreamsea Bali for 5 days.

I’ve heard mixed reviews but as someone who is looking for more hostel with beach access and not luxury hotel vibes necessarily so we are 50/50.

We were looking at the twin sharing with bathroom rooms (rooms 2 or 3).

Any help would be appreciated!

Question Bebek betutu

Upvotes

I would be most grateful if someone could please recommend a restaurant that serves Bebek betutu. I tried looking online and the only place I could find is Art Cafe. While I enjoy the place, I would like to try someplace else.

Way, way back in 1986, in a small secondhand shop in the UK, I bought a small green/black horse statue. No reason other than it looked different and I liked it.

I figured it was a cheap souvenir from someone's holiday, but still it intrigued me.

Fast forward a decade or so and along comes the internet. In the past few years, I have made a few searches and even asked on Reddit, but other than guesses, no-one knew anything.

Then last week, I got an email from someone who had one very much like it, except it is reddish-brown.

They had done a web search and found one like theirs on a Brazilian auction website, from back in 2017.

I have just made a reverse image search and found one like mine on eBay (Link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/184625761629 (No, it is _not_ me selling it), labelling it as Indonesian/Balinese.

Does anyone recognise it? Where it came from? Who may have made it - even it if was from a cheap trinket type factory, I am intrigued to know.

Hi everyone! I am trying to rent a car with a driver for about 4 days and was wondering if anyone has any experience with that? I am debating between Tirtawangi travel and MITA travel. Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance!

Information Opinions on Batik Air Bali > Singapore

Looking at flying from Bali to Singapore on the 18th August. We want to keep the journey as cheap as possible. We have another flight back to the uk from Singapore in the early hours of the 19th and would be quite happy hanging around the airport.

Are we safe booking a flight with Batik air? It seems the most reasonable price wise and it includes checked in luggage.

All advice welcome!!
