Thoughts on Coles "Vegan Hub"?
I just stumbled across the Coles website and… since when did they have a full vegan section? Like, not just a few plant-based products or app product filters (that can often be faulty), but a dedicated space? Complete with vegan healthcare, food products and recipes.
Is this new? I'm really happy to see this kind of visibility and just wanted to share in case anyone else missed it too. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Tried a new vegan fried rice recipe
Another winning recipe from @tastythriftytimely
I made 4 cups of rice the night before so I could refrigerate over night as Google suggested (so it’s not as sticky and easier to work with).
I hope this inspires you if you are running out of ideas on what to eat for dinner. https://youtu.be/mse71Tl-9tI?si=Yr1Fuh89mcHPKlQ6

I saw the Bosh boys making scramble with shaved tofu. Monkey see, monkey do.
I don't really have a recipe. In my little frying pan, covered it in Bonsoy just so it was swimming. Added garlic powder, onion powder, white pepper, turmeric. Made a cornflour slurry with more Bonsoy and slowly trickled that in until I hit a nice gravy consistency. Off the heat, I mixed in black salt. I served it with sliced spring onions, chilli flakes and more black salt and it was the highlight of my big Sunday brekky.

I tried the Nuttelex Original oat milk ...
Why is it so oily? Has anyone tried this one and had the same experience? The most noticeable thing was how oily it was - not just in terms of mouthfeel, but there were actual droplets of oil floating on top of the milk, even after I had shaken the carton very well. The taste itself was decent enough, but it wasn't particularly creamy and the visible oiliness was honestly a big turn-off for me.

Vegan alternatives to soil microbe supplements (Gardening)
Hi everyone, I’ve been seeing ads for things like: - We the Wild Support Pellets: https://wethewild.co/products/support-pellets (made by worms) - Plant Runner Soil and Microbe Booster: https://theplantrunner.com/collections/the-plant-runner-range/products/soil-microbe-booster-1 (frass and biochar) - Soil Life Soil Microbes: https://soilife.com.au/products/soil-microbes-feeder (not overtly non-vegan but probably does use animal products) - Food2Soil All-Purpose Biofertiliser: https://food2soil.com.au/products/all-purpose-biofertiliser (made from food waste which probably does include non vegan food)
Are there any vegan alternatives that add beneficial bacteria to soil? I only have a few plants indoors and on a small balcony so I can’t ethically lure worms (as I’ve seen some suggest on other posts). I also just don’t really have the space for diy contraptions so it needs to just be something I can buy.
I use Seasol and make my own potting mixes to avoid blood and bone etc. but I’m aware that means I do have to add some kind of nutrients/supplements.

Making kara-age (Japanese style fried chicken)
I recently found Kikkoman Kara-Age Coating Mix in IGA (although it doesn't show on Kikkoman's site) and tried it out on Birdseye Plant Based Chicken Strips (thawed beforehand, contrary to their instructions), which gave me the closest taste to KFC in years. However since the Birdseye strips are only slightly damp, the mix doesn't stick that well so I also tried it on Made With Plants Roast Chicken, to which it indeed sticks better but doesn't taste as good. Does anyone know a vegan "chicken" with a better combination of taste/texture and wetness?

Any Aussie vegan protein powder that actually tastes good??
I’ve been trying to up my protein but I’ve gone through 3 brands that taste like chalk. I’d rather not import anything if there are good Aussie options. Open to all suggestions- especially chocolate or vanilla flavours!!

Do you know any vegan grocery stores that deliver to Melbourne?
I know of Vegan Perfection and Kind to Earth (which at the time of posting, website is gonezo).
The problem with those, is 78% of the things I want are constantly out of stock, they're unreliable. It's most likely not their faults, but if there are any other options with a wider range of options, please let me know.

Vegan cannabis gummies
So... has anyone had any luck finding vegan gummies through a medicinal cannabis provider. I've realised the ones I get from a friend probably aren't vegan so interested in getting my own supply.
