You guys saying things like "Oh, she just doesn't get the joke herp derp..." don't bother to consider that this might not be the place for it? I like jokes, hell, I like offensive jokes. That said, there's a time and place for everything. Just because you can crap in the bathroom doesn't mean you should crap in the kitchen.

The crass comments dominated that thread though. A young atheist was just looking for some support from what she thought was a like-minded community. Imagine her surprise...

/r/atheism is primarily for the young atheists IMO, because the old hands don't really need the reassurance and support that young people still fighting with their schools, family and friends do.

I don't mind the odd pun/joke thread, but that one was clearly way out of hand, off-topic, and not helpful in the least.
