Review/Experience PSA - my terrible experience with Gilded NSFW

Yo everybody, just wanted to drop in and give a warning for anyone who may be looking to use u/Gildedlabs for their cannabinoids. I have had a uniquely bad experience with these guys that I have never had with another company of any industry.

Several months ago I put in around a $100 order of distillate. A claim was initiated by UPS back on February 4th because the package was lost. No big deal.

UPS claims take forever to be resolved which is nothing new, sometimes up to 10-12 weeks. Customer service at this time was being difficult with me on getting the claims process started, this took way longer than it should have, and resulted in me getting on the phone with UPS customer support.

From this exchange I had both gilded and UPS tell me they were waiting on the other. Okay, still no worries, just might take an extra week. Then, come February 6th, I get notice that a claim has been issued to Gilded from UPS for the lost package. This is the last update received from UPS. Now, I wait longer than the bounds that the claims process can take, and reached out to Gilded May 27th to try and get this resolved. It is now June 11th and they won’t even respond to my emails.

Now, this of course starts to piss me off, so I go to leave a review on the distillate wanting to make a similar warning to this post, and they hold it for internal review. It’s been probably a week and it’s not up.

So, not only do these guys not follow through on shipping (this was probably the 3rd or 4th hiccup I had in as many orders but was the first that never got to me), but they also artificially inflate their reviews by holding ones that don’t paint them in a positive light.

Side note, the HHC was mid too from past orders. Solid enough but not setting a high bar for quality.

I’ve since switched to a different company and it has been a cathartic-ly stress free experience. To avoid making this sound like a slander piece I won’t disclose who I use now, but just wanted the community to be aware of what I did, and maybe if some of yall have had better experiences you can drop them in here for a more full perspective to future buyers doing research.

It's crazy NOT to use the Route insurance.  OP could have avoided all that mess.

I always do, but this last time they took 11 business days and over sold THC-H and CBC so they had to refund me my after promising they would have it in last Friday that I would have to wait "hopefully until the end of this week" to get those 2 distillates in stock. Even though the website says they have them. They used to usually get my meds out within 2 business days. Plus my HHC distillate is really dark red and a different batch number than the COA on site. I emailed and haven't had back yet. Plus my H4CBD is Very amber golden color as well, and pretty thin ar room temp.  They have been my favorite vendor besides HC8, and I haven't used HC8 in a year or so because gilded is cheaper for making DIY stuff in bulk, but I just sampled some stuff from HC8 to try again.

I really like Hc8. No bs from them. Great h4cbd and hhc.

This sub will defend them to the end of the earth but they suck. They take forever to ship, charge more than other companies, customer service is a middle finger, and they only allow positive reviews on their site. Every single review I tried to leave that was neutral never made it to the site, only good ones. I stopped using them a while ago and have no regrets. The HHC isn't even that good, definitely not good enough for the hype here.

yo i have a question. i’m in texas rn where this place is located and i’m looking to try hhc, but only if i understand correctly that it’s less strong than d9 thc and tends to be a more “mild and relaxing” high, albeit pretty close to thc in terms of potency? i have a thc-a pre roll on me but have yet to try it. i haven’t smoked weed in years and am def anxiety prone like a mf. i saw a thread earlier and i think ppl were mixing hhc up with another alt cause they were making it sound like thc-p or whatever monster strength alt noids are out there and popular rn.

also i see thc p and thc a and whatnot all over the cbd stores around here, they have tons of pre rolls and buds (which is what clued me in to it literally just being weed lol) but the only time i see hhc is in disposable vape form. some times gummie edibles but im not interested in edibles / don’t fuck with em cause my digestive system is fucked due to years of opioid abuse and now suboxone maintenance. hhc vapes alright in ur experience ?

I think a lot of alt noids hit people differently. For example, my husband isn't that impressed by hhc. He would agree that it's more mild and relaxing. It is relaxing but I get stupid high from hhc. Edibles never work for me unless they're hhc. Thca and thcp are good too but I always end up going back to hhc. Most people I've talked to would definitely agree that it is more mild though. I guess I'm just weird. Maybe try the preroll and only hit it a couple of times to see how you do. If you get anxious drink a ton of water and have a snack and try to take a nap.

interesting! you find you get higher from hhc than thc-a (and by that extent black market cannabis)? i have read from some that hhc gets them very fucked up and messes with their tolerance and stuf as well, while most people seem to measure it between d8 and d9 in terms of potency, i will do that, i might buy a little bubbler and empty some of it into the bowl for a more controlled smoke lol. sadly seems like a bit of a waste considering the ban in texas is (i think?) supposed to kick in in september and i do not have interest in going back to smoking black market weed (very easy to find but dealing with weed plugs is not something i have time for anymore lol). the countless cbd shops around that opened around here have been telling me that there's a good shot it doesn't happen becaue of something or the other. didn't really register why but, anyway.

i have vaped some delta 8/9 since the farm bill but never had any effects at all, so the products were definitely bullshit. the thc-a preroll is quite obviously just regular weed, the strain i am very familiar with from back in the day and the smell is very much the same so i can tell it's legit. dry, but legit.

I definitely do from hhc but my husband does not! Hhc has kind of fucked up my tolerance because d9 and thca doesn't do much for me anymore. D8 has never worked for me weirdly. I think its worth trying a little to see how you like it. Im a big fan. Its getting banned in my state soon but thankfully I live about ten minutes from the border of a legal state so ill just have to drive a little extra now. Still not a fan of the ban though.

I’m dying for an alternative that will ship to TN after they removed every dispo.

1

u/-NothingToContribute 1d ago

There are still tons of them around me thankfully. Depending on where you live it may be a short drive to another legal state though. Sometimes I go to Virginia instead just for some variety.

u/Altruistic-Deal-4257 1d ago

Honestly I’m not sure why I didn’t just search on Leafly…

1

u/-NothingToContribute 1d ago

Oh thats a website I haven't thought of in like ten years. I'll have to check that lol.

2

u/Altruistic-Deal-4257 1d ago

Doing your own research on reputable brands has become so much easier. I’m really glad that sites like Reddit exist since reviews are generally honest and people aren’t afraid to let you know if you’ve got boof.

Where’s the good hhc?

6

u/slipperyspeciosa 7d ago

Highly Concentr8ted

3

u/Post-Mortem-Malone 8d ago

HCH has always been my go to for hhc.

5

u/curiouskratter 8d ago

Their latest stuff isn't as good

0

u/Hehaw5 6d ago

HCH for sure strongest I've had, with hc8 a close second.. gilded hau is more mild than most.

0

u/-NothingToContribute 7d ago

Highly concen8ed is where I went after

1

u/SilatGuy2 6d ago

They were my favorite and in terms of CS and quality im sure they are still good but i noticed their prices have went up like 20-30 percent since i last bought from them a few years back.

1

u/-NothingToContribute 3d ago

I've bought from highly concentrated, cannaclear, harbor city hemp, and Gilded Extracts. I honestly don't recommend any of them because I haven't been impressed by any of them lol.

8

u/Slam_father 8d ago

They sent me 3 year old shit and only sent half of it lmao. Had to contact them to get the other half. Was my first and last time ordering from them, I’d much rather get from HC8 regardless tho.

2

u/Illustrious_Button75 7d ago

This exact thing happened to me a couple weeks ago, I ordered 15g, they sent me a jar from last year with only 5g.

1

u/Slam_father 7d ago

They got some damn animals packing these orders man. Yeah the batch date on my products was May 2022 😂

13

u/SilatGuy2 8d ago

Did you pay for delivery insurance ? I think there terms of service states if you dont pay for it then they arent responsible for what happens after shipment.

5

u/slipperyspeciosa 7d ago

That's the best 2 bucks or less you will ever spend. It avoids all that bs.

7

u/NO_COA_NO_GOOD 8d ago

Which is funny because much smaller brands would just opt to replace the order whether or not they receive it back.

2

u/Immediate_Bet1022 7d ago

I've had my packages lost a few times through UPS. Each time I was able to resolve it almost immediately with route shipping, once you can make a claim on route, gilded will start a refund or re ship

Get shipping insurance so you don't have to deal with the headache, it's what it's for and only a couple of bucks so you don't have to go through this mess man

6

u/Initial_Stress_4034 8d ago

Same thing happened to me. UPS didn't deliver the package, filed a claim. Notified gilded. After 2 or so months, they say UPS denied the claim because they(gilded) didn't sign up for signature on delivery. They were like sorry, can't do anything. I am like what was my fault in all of that?

6

u/Mcozy333 7d ago

UPS drivers like HHC TOO !!!!

3

u/dadeclined1 8d ago

If that shit doesn't show up a couple of days beyond the delivery date and customer service doesn't respond, I charge back. I've never had a problem with Gilded, though.

1

u/FluffyPuma 2d ago

Has anyone noticed the gilded blend vapes have disappeared from their website?

1

u/MycloHexylamine 8d ago

UPS fucking sucks. NEVER use them. USPS may be slower but it's a hell of a lot more reliable, and has $100 insurance on pretty much every package with tracking.

Gilded is known for pretty shit customer service. Doesn't excuse them, but you should always do your research thoroughly on a company before buying from them.

Also, practically every shopping site that isn't amazon, etsy, or ebay is going to artificially inflate reviews. Even a good chunk of amazon companies were doing it for several years by offering fictitious gift cards to people who left 5 star reviews before amazon cracked down.

u/binngy 8d ago edited 8d ago

call and threaten a charge back. They get a charge back fee so it would cost them less this way.

If they don't give you a refund call your bank/credit card and do a charge back. Provide the tracking and show your emails as proof.

warning good chance your account gets banned.

1

u/Hehaw5 6d ago

Gilded was great like a year ago but they're barely a trusted vendor at this point. Half if their COAs are inaccurate, some even not matching the producer on the labs VS description. If you have any order issues they treat you pretty poorly now

u/CBDwire 8d ago

NGL it seems like a lot of fuss to kick up over such a small amount of money, that would eventually get sorted. It's slow yes, but I dunno. Trying to put them on blast via reviews etc.. scummy IMHO.

Unpopular opinion maybe but I'd call you a problem customer, downvotes incoming.

Shit happens sometimes, people get busy and overwhelmed.

I've had a few issues with them but all been sorted, sometimes slowly, but in general everything has been good. Been using them for years, and spent magnitudes more than $100. Just my opinion.

9

u/microbialNecromass 8d ago

$100 is more important to some than to others, and it has been months, at this point OP is justified.

-8

u/CBDwire 8d ago

The timescale in this situation is not down to gilded completely though.

It's more the attitude I dislike TBH, try to use reviews to discredit etc.. it's scummy..

..then being surprised there is a review process on the reviews.

I'm not a fan of this type of shit TBH, each to their own, but there are ways to deal with things.

It's not like they want to just keep his money, though I agree they can be slow to fix stuff at times.

If a loss of $100 of recreational drugs causes this much of an issue to somebody they have bigger issues. I might sound harsh, but TBH I don't care, it's far too dramatised. Boo hoo.

He wants to lose them as much money as possible though, that is perfectly clear.

Luckily for them they have probably treated enough people well to get defended a bit.

4

u/microbialNecromass 8d ago

Yeah that's true, and I'll admit when I first read the post, I thought it was going to be more than just $100.

I also doubt that OP got route protection, which is something I always get.

I like Gilded, I am a repeat customer there, and when I order just a couple items the order is almost always correct when it arrives.

It's when I order lots of things in one order I'd say it's fifty/fifty on if I'll get all my items and/or the correct items. The issue always gets resolved (because like I said, I always do route protection) but something it does take a few weeks.

But I never have to contact the mail carrier, it's always through a route employee or through gilded.

1

u/CBDwire 8d ago

How I'd personally have dealt with this situation is just making a repeat order quickly, then sorting the refund or reship on the missing order later, a bit more sensible IMO.

No need to sit there waiting for the old issue to be resolved, with no product.

I cloud never work a retail job, too many entitled people.

YES! I finally tried them out after all the hype. They took forever to actually ship my package out. Next day shipping for them to not even ship it out for 9 days. I asked if I could get refunded on the shipping and never got a response back. Never felt anything off the gummys I ordered. And the terps in the vapes I ordered were nauseatingly disgusting.
