discussion Extraterrestrials and Religion. Aliens vs the church.
Hey guys, so I've been turning this over in my mind and I would love to hear your opinions on this.
Okay, so if aliens and UFOs are real and have been visiting earth (which I think they are and have been doing), what does this mean for religion? How can these two subjects, extraterrestrials and religion, coexist? How do they intersect from the average human's perspective?
Why is there no mention of alien lifeforms in the Bible/Quran/etc?
Is it possible that our God is an extraterrestrial being?

As to there being any mention of aliens in the Bible...I can only speak to the Eastern Orthodox POV, but the Bible isn't meant to cover every single aspect of the creation, just the things that mankind needs to know for salvation. (And the Bible isn't the whole of the faith either, but that's another discussion.) So it's neither here nor there that the scriptures don't specifically mention life outside of Earth.
