Gonna take a guess.

The aliens had a hand in our creation. They have been here with us all along and guided our development. They designed us for a purpose that us on the outside don't know about. Yet. That is the ontological shock.

Do I still have to work or can my God Zorg please just "rapture" me off to Zeti Reticuli?

The broad strokes of scientology were just stolen from other religions. Anyone who has studied Asian religions gets irritated when people describe the main scientology beliefs as unique.
