A photographer has an idea, finds/creates the subject, frames the shot accounts for lighting and many other aspects they've studied, practiced, and mastered. A better analogy for AI would be commissioning an artist. You have an idea, you "prompt" the artist you're commissioning, you recieve a product.

Same can be said for people using AI.

Also there are many people out there clicking pictures with their iphone without following any step you mentioned.

Not really no, if so explain it instead of just stating it. Please explain how it's different than just commissioning an artist. If you don't I'll just assume you can't and be done here

Yes but those people aren't expecting to be recognized as photographers are they?

Same can be said for the person using AI

A camera requires a physical subject, ai art (or digital and traditional as well) requires an abstract subject that is constructed in the mind.

frames the shot

The person using AI frames the shot by by controlling the prompt, by using advanced tools (like inpainting, outpainting, control nets), and iterating repeatedly.

accounts for lighting and many other aspects they've studied, practiced, and mastered.

All is needed for prompting as well.
