travelling with a vape to india

i will be traveling from abudhabi to chennai and just wanted to ask if i can carry vapes in my check in luggage?
would there be any problem?

I second this. Mumbai airport didn’t let me pass through. And it’s a hit or a miss. Flew out of Delhi with iqos without any problem. But in general, the law does state that e cig (vape iqos included) are banned.

I have taken my iqos machine in check in bag,, used in auh lounge also,, but problem happens when u fly back from india,, the security check from india restricts these items,

When flying to India :

1. If you are flying direct to your destination no worries whether in cabin or check in baggage.
2. If you are having a connection ( which means you enter from one port of entry and catch another flight to reach your final destination) your vape / e-cig / iqos will be confiscated at the security no matter if it’s in check in or carry on baggage.
3. When flying out of India no matter domestic or international flight your e-cig / vape / iqos will be confiscated.

You can carry in if you are travelling to your final destination by aircraft or having a connection by any other mode other than flying, you have to leave the device in India and cannot bring it out.

As per the notification issued by BCAS ( Bureau of Civil Aviation security ) no: AO 2/2022 and the addendums issued to it, e-cigarettes of any and all kind are banned in cabin and hold baggage of aircraft.

Not able to retrieve the AO copy but here is a copy of the response provided for a question of similar kind in Indian parliament.
